Are Donte and Vergin their names in the remake, or ******** people's names for the characters?

There's an unholy **** storm of immaturity coming from a lot of people taking about this game. Stay away from the gamefaqs.com PS3 section for this game, if you know what's good for you...it's the eye of the storm.

Haha, i really hope this games sales are great and capcom moves on with this version of dante while completely forgetting about the 'classic' version of the character.

At the start of this whole project i was against this direction, but after seeing countless videos and playing the demo, im completely on board and ready to wave by to the old character.

Yeah, I really don't get the complaints at this point in time. When they first announced the game I hated the new look, but with all the great videos, the minor change they made to new Dante's hair, and the demo, I'm really looking forward to it now.

I mean, I liked old Dante and felt the past games a had a great cheesy charm to them. But old Dante is far from the greatest character is fiction or even video games, and the story and dialogue in the past games were atrocious (in a fun way). So it's not like they're messing with some truly great characters or literary work. It's a freakin' video game. People who are still complaining are just doing so for the sake of complaining. Haters gonna hate, as they say.

I think Capcom will capitalize on old Dante's popularity, even if the new one is successful. It might be like Mega Man classic/Mega Man X.

one of the people that made the new DMC Alex Jones drops by vic's Basement. Alex is the Senior Producer on DmC, for that pod cast.I'm not putting it up incase scott does his out control swear fits and vic fallows suit. And I have to respect the rules of the hype. So you'll have to check it out for your selves or pm me I'll send it your way. If you want to hear it. But I'm sure you can find it your selves. They are on ITunes after all.

I wouldn't say I'm completely on board with the new direction and Dante quite yet...I'll have to beat the game to decide that for myself...but I'm all in for the gameplay! I love me some Devil May Cry hack and slash action and the combat offered in the demo is fun as hell and manages to feels fresh while still retaining the previous DMC's feel as well. So I'm stoked for Tuesday.

I 100% agree! Old Dante had an almost Bruce Campbell appeal to him...cheesy and yet badass. I always enjoyed that aspect of those games, even though the story across the 4 of them became a total mess.

Speaking of Old Dante...Check out the unlockable costumes for DmC (spoiler, this image shows 3 of them...if you don't want to know until you unlock them yourself, then don't look):

Yea i agree, i mean i have no issue with his dark hair, but that white hair color does look pretty cool on the character.

Has it been stated on how we unlock those skins?

I just checked around Teh Google and the cesspool that is the gamefaqs boards (which is where i got the picture from) and i wasn't able to locate how you unlock them. I'm going to assume it's the old fashioned way: beat the game on it's various difficulties...but I'm sure we'll will find out for sure soon enough.

The White hair does look cool. While Im sure they thought incorporating a reason why his hair goes white, it better be a good reason. Otherwise I see no point.

Anyone know if you can do the gundance move where you can change the directions of your guns while standing in one place?

Noisias soundtrack is out and its pretty ****ing cool. The Metal CombiC stuff gets released the 25th but you can preview it on itunes. Alot of good music here. Much better and heavier then the demo led me to believe.
Getting stoked to kill some demons to loud music this week.

That hair looks more platinum blonde than white to me

Its cause of the pic quality. There is a yellow tint to everything including skin tone. Its supposed to be white.

Like the old times. Complete tasks to unlock the goods, that's how it's supposed to be.
I hope one of them has unlimited Devil Trigger. I don't know how I can beat the Hell or Hell mode without something like that.

DMC3's skin is my favorite.

I grabbed the noisia soundtrack earlier this week. It's mostly kinda slow atmospheric stuff, but there are a few really good pulse pounding tracks in there, my favorite being Lilith's Club I'm looking forward to the combichrist album for all the aggressive ass kicking music.

I'm pretty sure there's no shooting in 2 different directions in this one. I'm not 100% positive though, it could be a purchase-able move.

Indeed...though in this one, devil trigger kinda just pauses everything and suspendes enemies in the air, right? So i don't know that it would be much fun to play through the entire game fighting a bunch of lifeless dumbies. Seems like it would be pretty mind numbing...I'd do it for a platinum trophy though :oldrazz:

So, confirmed? No badass Devil Trigger transformation at all?

Yeah, just saw the final boss fight. The game isn't nearly as fast as the 1, 3 or even 4. That doesn't mean it won't be good, but I have trouble calling this DMC. And I am not talking the look. Clearly it is more grungy Bayonetta then Devil May Cry, but the animations are slow and awkward. Even Vergil's fighting style looks off with the more normal sized Katana. The style was built on the very idea of having a very large katana and sheath.

Never realized how much he looks like Hayden Christensen.

To get some of your questions answered...I'm taking the plunge into the hell hole known as gamefaqs PS3 DmC section...i must really like you guys :oldrazz:

Wish me luck *holds breath*

Yeah, my first impression was it was a boy band version of him.

Yeah, I havnt seen it anywhere kinda bummed about that.

Thought the Mundus theme was the best on Noisias soundtrack. Liliths Club is up there too though. I dug it alot. I like how theres just tons of tracks between the two.

Maybe there will be with the alternate costumes.
In DMC3 we could transform into Sparda when using one of the alternate skins.
Maybe using DMC3's skin in this game gives us this:

I usually don't buy games like this on the PC, but I might have too. The gameplay looks so much smoother on the PC. Apparently the game runs at 60fps, but plays at 30fps on the PC, where it is locked at 30fps on the consoles.

I got some answers to a few questions:

What all does the Devil Trigger do for you? I know it pauses action and tosses enemies in the air and heals you, but do you do more damage and does it give you any new moves? Also, is it upgradable?

The DT heals you, floats enemies in the air, and allows you to kill color-coded enemies no matter what weapon. No new moves for the DT too and it doesn't last very long. DT does more damage (You can take off a full bar of Poison's health with one Arbiter combo in DT.)

Over the course of the game, does Devil Trigger ever evolve into something more than just looking human with white hair...like say you actually take on a demon form? (no spoilers)

The DT stays exactly the same throughout the whole game. You never get a true demon form

Can you only perform the million stab after doing the stinger?

Correct

How does the weapon/move upgrade system work? (Do you upgrade weapons to get new moves? can you just purchase moves on their own? etc.)

You purchase moves on your own and the moves have damage upgrades. There isn't a ton to the move list though. If you've played the demo then you've seen all the moves for those weapons and the other weapons don't have all that many either.
