hmmm a story done by nija theory but with Platinum Games game play. it would be interesting if it ever happened. Not likely but interesting.

Thats wrong as well as I said in my other post.
What? I was just repeating what you said with different words. You're saying you are wrong.
Most think it didnt need one though and enjoyed everything about the series. Most fans were lead to believe they would see a continuation and story conclusion with Nero that was unfinished. People do play these games for other reasons besides the gameplay. Yeah, theres alot of people who will bash DmC without being fair.

No, I said its stupid to unfairly bash this game. If you are bashing this game specifcally beacuse you wanted a sequel without giving it a chance then that is wrong.

Finished the game, enjoyed it and thought it was very good. The levels designs are so much better than the original games.

Agreed level designs are awesome. Love the club level.

You're saying what I quoted you saying, hence why I said ''And the people who hate everything because it isn't the sequel that they wanted''. Referring to your statement ''Most fans were lead to believe they would see a continuation'', to which you reiterate with ''Yeah, theres alot of people who will bash DmC without being fair. Thats stupid.'' Don't lose yourself in your own words.

AHhhhh gotcha. Sorry Jick. I thought that was a question originally. My apologies.

Looks like this game is failing everywhere. Good. Then maybe they could go back to the universe we care about.

You guys are watching the game? Seriously?
I remember some time ago some people picking on Spider-Aziz for reviewing a game by watching it on Youtube and now you're doing just the same?

And the people who hate everything because it isn't the sequel that they wanted.
We are talking about the writing, story and characters. You know, the bits you simply watch in this game. Where does it matter where you saw that? Haven't watched it all by the way. Just enough to piss me off.

Oh, totally forgot to mention it before, I got a glimpse at Sparda during the demo. Stripped of all his dignity. Just a guy with your classic devil horns. In chains and on a leash. :(

It's all ok.

I'm seeing more good reviews than bad reviews out there. I don't see it failing everywhere.

You're not playing. You're not immersed in the game, just watching. Playing is one experience, watching is another. Even if it's just the cutscenes, you're not ''living'' it.

I really think you could give your final judgement after you play through the whole game. But that is probably tainted now that you spoiled yourself.

EDIT: You said you didn't see it all. That's what I was talking about. Bits and pieces, not the whole pictures.

Oh I am living it. Just like I am living this conversation.

Let me give you an example. I didn't have a PC capable of running the Witcher 2 when it hit. I watched a Let's Play of the prologue as I couldn't hold out anymore. It didn't make me not want to play it, it did the exact opposite. Made it my mission to get a rig that could run it. It is now one of my 10 favorite games.

Quality is quality. I don't need to be playing to understand what terrible, crass dialogue is. Sessler's review has enough to turn most people off.

Yeah, that was disappointing.

Does Sessler controls anything you or others should like and dislike? I never even heard of him. And I wasn't talking about the dialogue, but the cursing. The swearing. Maybe it is justified by the way the character is by the beginning, but maybe it changes as the game progresses, the same way that the character changes and is developed (don't tell me if you know, I don't want to be spoiled). But you said you haven't watched it all anyway, so your hatred towards it is as biased as the others. You're judging a piece of the whole.

After you play the game, if you don't like, then it is a whole different situation.
I also already had shirts that looked just boring on the hanger, but once I put them on my body, my opinion changed. I remember when I played the demo for InFAMOUS. I hated it. Couldn't see myself playing through it all. But since it was free after the PSN being hacked, I downloaded, played through it all and loved.
Once again, couldn't you give your final judgement only after you experience it all?

They probably shouldn't even have a difficulty called "Son of Sparda", because it doesn't have any meaning anymore. At least in the previous series, they made him out to be a complete and utter badass. One of the strongest demons, who decided to protect humanity. Now we have him getting an Angel pregnant, and getting imprisoned because of it.

Sparda, you deserved better.

You don't know who Adam Sessler is? He is one of the few journalist who can actually articulate his views, which gives them much more credence imo. You don't have to agree, but you'd have trouble trying to deny his point.

Anyways, I was talking about just the scenes he showed in his video. There is no reason for the type of language used other then to be crass. But crass can be good, when you can write. Tarantino films, the Grand Theft Auto games, Game of Thrones, Shameless, etc. all have plenty of crass moments that work beautifully. The dialogue makes it very clear the writers here don't know how to write.

Finally, it is ridiculous to say you need to play a game in full to judge it correctly. Am I to believe I would have to suffer through a terrible 10 hour plus game to appease your opinion? If someone is not pleased by the aesthetics and presentation of a game, it must be played to the bitter end to understand that? It takes a few hours to get whether a game is appealing or not. If it takes longer, then the game is poorly structured (Final Fantasy 13) and don't deserve the time.

Gah... FF13. It wasn't fun the first 20 hours I spent on it, and getting back to it half a year later and finish the additional 20 hours didn't make it any more fun.

Thank you. I can't believe people made and still make that argument.

Nops. Never heard of Sessler. Probably not a big name. I stick with reviews from big gaming sites. Not that this clouds my judgement. What convinced me to buy DmC was the demo, not reviews.

If it is ridiculous to say you need to play a game in full to judge it correctly? Maybe. What are you judging? The gameplay? Then probably not. Unless it vastly differs from one section of the game to the other. But, to judge the story? Or the characters? Or their development? Of course. Imagine yourself watching a movie and you don't like the character. Then you get up midway, leave, and complain that the character wasn't what you expected, but then someone else says this character became what you wanted by the end of the movie. And, once again, you told me you haven't watched it all. You're judging pieces. Does the story matter to you more than the gameplay or the gameplay matters more? If you didn't like the gameplay, then that is a good enough reason not to buy it. But the story? Or the cursing? Or the interactions? You haven't seen it all.

If you're to believe I would have to suffer through a terrible 10 hour plus game to appease my opinion? Of course not, I don't care if you like it or hate it. Are you're trying to appease anyone?

It takes a few hours to get whether a game is appealing or not? Probably yes. By playing it.

Sessler was one of the main reviewers on G4. He co hosted X Play with Morgan Webb.

A movie is what, 4 hours on the very long end. You can't compare.

Then there are television shows, which might be a bit easier to compare and I most certainly don't stick around if after four episodes I can't stand anyone.

Basically you are using the, "it gets better" defense which isn't even a good defense because it forces you to discount a large part of the content. How does the second half being marginally better change how bad the first part is?

Giant Bomb Review (5/5)

I brought no personal baggage to Ninja Theory's take on Devil May Cry, having played and enjoyed the original game way back when but then steering clear of the series after its poorly received second entry. Whether you're a longtime fan (with an open mind) or a total newcomer just looking for a solid character action game, it's hard to imagine anyone feeling overly dissatisfied with this new game. It's almost wholly successful at what it tries to do, and seems like the start of a promising new direction for what was otherwise a nearly forgotten franchise.
