The Dark Knight Do we know too much..way too soon?

I've been trying to avoid these forums, but i'm a die hard Batman fan, and just like any crack addict-i keep being pulled back in. I was one of the luckyones that managed to copy the leaked pics that were posted here a few days ago, onto my comp and love what i'm seeing so far.....

.............but....

...this movie is a year out, and we've already been exposed to sssssooooo much . A year out from when Btamn Begins was released, i don't recall knowing/seeing so much about the movie other than the leaked BB script. If memory serves me correctly, it wasn't until about 5-6 months from it's release date that we actually got the same amount of leaked material we've already gotten for TDK.

So my quesion is;

Am i the only one who fears that TDK is heading down the same road as Spiderman 3; where we've seen/know the entire movie on the net before it's even released?

I dont think TDK is gonna go that out of hand. But I hope not cuz before SM3 came out I basically knew the whole movie

I actually do think we've seen and/or heard too much about this film too early. But I dont think Spiderman-3 is good comparison for this because Spiderman-3 would've sucked regardless of whether stuff was leaked or not. I think TDK will be badass regardless.

I don't consider it as bad, because very few ppl will actually sit down and read a leaked script word for word, page for page. The scripts are also changed while they're being shot all the time, so what we read may not be the way the end product will be. But when we see clips, screenshots, etc that's taken straight from the movie, 99.9999% of the time that's exactly what we're gonna end up seeing in the final product.

Eh, I've read the novelization to quite a few movies before I saw them, and that didn't hinder my enjoyment any, just got me more excited to see the film. And I don't think we know as much as we think we do. Sure, we have some pictures, and the sides, but I bet a lot of our theories are completely off.

For BB, the script was leaked. Litte things changed in the final product, but for the most part, we knew what was going to happen in all three acts and we knew all the major beats.

This time, we are having to piece it together ourselves based on call sheets and photos and casting sides. This time around, we know very little.

yeah i was unfortunatly one of the ppl who read the leaked script. yeah i saw the movie and basically knew what was gonna happen, and i will admit i did kinda feel that "meh i knew that was gonna happen" feeling and i am really trying not to do that again, cuz it does kinda hinder the experience, the surprises and so forth. but this time we dont have a leaked script so now it should be more fun.

Knowing too much about a film can really twist your views when you finally get to see it, I agree. It's happened to me with numerous films, yet I still can't help but search for spoilers.

With TDK though I feel that "knowing too much" may have an effect from a 'direction' point of view but it still can't show me how Ledger is going to perform as the Joker.

You could tell me the story from beginning to end, but so long as I haven't seen how the Joker performs, then I will still have something to look forward to when seeing the film for the first time. t:

^whats with this guy posting the banned photos? anyways for me, theres no such thing as knowing too much about this particular film. If i was worried about it, i wouldnt be hanging around the spoiler forums of this movie. However for what used to be a highly secretive production has suffered more leaks (save for a script leak) than any other production in recent memory. We could pretty much piece together a basic summary of the whole movie, with all the set reports, leaked pics, sides and spoilers on the net. It dosen't ruin the movie for me though.

As you said yourself, we had the entire script for BB at this time for it...compared to having the entire movie to read at our leisure, we dont have crap

For me, I can read every spoiler, read everything leaked and all that take it with a grain of salt. I just look at it as all imagination (even though it may be true and a fact). I think of it this way so that when I actually see the film itself I'm surprised and amused and nothing is really ruined for me. But I do stop myself from reading every little thing a few months before the movie actualy comes out to give myself time to forget or not be familer with everything I already read. That make sense to anyone?

I've been following Rob Zombie's Halloween ever since it was announced and I've stoped reading stuff about the movie when they released a test screening and people reviewed it and gave away stuff. As for me, everything of a spoiler I read about that movie is just speculation in my mind until I see for myself.

I don't want to know too much about what happens in the film. When I visit the spoilers forum, I just have to accept the fact that I may have to pick and choose which threads I open, or which posts I read or skip over. At this point, the way things are in these forums is almost like when the Begins script was leaked, and I basically had to abandon this section of the boards until the movie came out.

Just one request, though, to all of you guys who are spoiling the movie for yourselves...when you finally get to see it, don't come back here whining about it not fulfilling your expectations. Please don't be that guy.
