Do you belive we have souls?

Yes we do. I just sent mine to the shop; I feel empty at the moment.

Everybody's got SOUL, baby!

Now get yo ass on that train.

I do believe in souls.

intresting ideas i heard about souls. one is that twins have only one soul. since they came from one egg originally. if they have two then there are ocurances where eggs will merge back together. so would that egg end up with two souls. and if the soul is the route of emotion or empathy etc, what of people who lack such. and what of the brain damaged, have they lost part of their soul or changed souls. of course if you don't believe in souls you don't have these conundrums.

To answer the question of whether or not we have souls, we'd need a thourough definition of what a soul actually is. Asking if you have a soul without defining it like asking if someone if they are filled with shiny rays of joy and happyness.

well do any of you guys believe us humans have souls? what makes us feel empathy!? what makes us cry over loved ones?! what makes cringe at a dreaded thought?!

feeling quite philosophical today, are we? :cwink:

Hehe. Someone post that episode of The Simpsons where Bart sells his soul to Milhouse.:o

But, yes.

Interesting question...I'm not too sure what constitutes a soul though. A better question is, do we think animals have souls?

Lisa Simpson:
But you know, Bart, some philosophers believe that nobody is born with a soul -- that you have to earn one through suffering and thought and prayer, like you did last night.

I wanna believe in this theory!

Duh. The thing that pisses me off is that even if we do have the technology to clone a human being or even re-instate life into someone years after their death, some people believe they'll be the same person. No. If you can clone a human entirely, they will be an individual with the same DNA, not personality - or soul. If you can freeze a human and then thaw it out years later, it might be "alive" but it's brain - and soul - will be dead.

So, there is some connection to souls and being an individual.

You better get this zombie movie idea copyrighted.

Some times I think it is all hooey, but I had thought abot "selling" my soul on ebay or something like that, some quick cash and all I have to hand over is some phoney baloney document certifying ownership and signed in blood or some cliche like that.

I figured there would be some weirdos out there willing to spend quite a bit on something like that, it sounds valuable. But when I started really considering it I chickened out. So I guess part of me believes.

I think people have tried to sell their soul on ebay before but it got taken down. Under the rules human beings or body parts are not allowed to be sold.
