i mean that i think that everyone has the feeling that one thing after another goes wrong. i think it's just a mixture of hope, optimism, and lonliness that makes us want to believe that someone is constantly watching over us.
that way we don't feel so "alone" during those bad times.

I'm pretty weird about that aspect of my beliefs. I don't think I've ever felt God's presence to this day but yet I believe. It's the main reason why my faith isn't as strong as it should be. People talking about "feeling" God and getting "signs". I want a damn sign. Whenever you're ready G-man.

Well, if we are all extentions of God's consciousness (well, as far as my beliefs go) God doesn't seem to have a choice in the matter. Kinda like how our subconcious is always "watching" or recording our conscious experiences. At least that's how it seems to me.

there might indeed be a higher consciousness, sure, but to think that it HAS to do something as mundane as "watching over"any of us, is a bit presumtuous, it is up to US to do things right.

Well, guess my views on "God" or what we refer to as God are a little different than yours. Don't really see God as a person with a taste for barbershop quartet. No, no, I'm pretty sure God is a big Sinatra fan. Just my beliefs.

In all seriousness though, mys beliefs lie in the realm of we are extentions of a form of consciousness, or I guess God, as most people refer to it. We are meant to grow, evolve, expand our consciousness to cosmic levels,and as we are all extentions of said consciousness, or God, is in a sense "watching over us". Though I do believe we do have the free will to choose how we want to evolve, good or bad, so we can create our extensions of said consciousness in whacky unpredictable ways. And I think we have a "Higher Self" that would be more close to the source of existance and what we are now is just an extention of said higher self dwelling in a more dense material realm.

Or, to put it more simple, Earth is a classroom, and we are the students.
