Do You Ever Hear This?

Wrestlers are the gay ones:o

Not really. I wrestled from Jr. High on into my first two years of college. In all that time I only encountered one wrestler who was openly gay. I did, however, know quite a few football players who were openly gay. What does any of this illustrate? That generalizations are silly and that's just about it.

Sloth: your net-thugging is hilarious.
Whos thugging? Your brother shouldn't let anyone bully him over watching those shows. I know I wouldn't.
You say stereotyping is funny and ironic, and yet you stereotypically think adults or teenagers can't watch those shows?

Jag, could you explain sarcasm to me? :)

Actually I can, but for the purposes of this thread I will only say that it does not always translate to the internet very well.

^^Yeah it's best that half of us just keep our mouths shut... So far I've been accused of whining when I was simply here to discuss stereotypes. It's hard to clarify on forums without sounding like an ******* or using smilies.

My point, Sloth, was that my brother claims I'm immature for reading comic books at 18, and being interested in superheroes, yet he watches TV shows that are directed at children. My point was ABOUT the irony.

It was a joke that I was the only one who got it :(

I got told that comics are for guys a while back... Never yet been told that they're for kids though.

which is such a misconception. if anything, "kids" are exactly who comic books are NOT for.

I know it, everybody who reads comics knows it... notice its only those that don't read them that'll say it.

I agree that some comics are too mature for kids, but I'd say the majority of them can be read by kids, teens, and adults.

Yeah, but you changed your whole stand point in the argument when responding to my comment with Kritish. Though I'm sure it was a joke, I like to instigate at every chance I get.

I'm failing to see how and where I changed my stand point.

Help me out here a little bit.

Yeah, my Dad thought comics were immature. But then I showed him The death of Gwen Stacy, Batman: Year One, DKR, Long Halloween, ect...

and he accepted them as a genuine medium.

I watch both of those shows time to time and no one dare ever start with me.

How old are you?

You're a male cheerleader and are surprised people call you gay?

And your bro is 13 and you're surprised he still watches Spongebob? Dude, I'm 18 and I still watch Spongebob.

All I'm reading here is emo.

Dude, male cheerleaders get to hang out with cheerleaders and look under their skirts all day...

Just that its hypocritical to form a stereotype that someone should be beat up for watching kids shows and yet you dont want to be teased for reading comics. Or did I misinterpret you?

I don't know a kid who could make it through Watchmen or a stack of Love and Rockets.

But Batman? Yeah, Batman is for kids.

Bull dykes = :down
