What do you think of this so called "Viral Campaign" that the WB's been playing?

I like all the different sites that they've made and calling the phone numbers from the sites has been fun but this game they've been playing is a bit much for me. I can't keep up with it all.

What do you think of it?

I think it is great. We would more than likely get this stuff in eventually if we did not play the games, but playing the games has kept us all interested, and yearning for more.
I can see why people are over them though. However if you don't like them, you don't have to play them! You can still reap the rewards at the end of the day.

I wonder what would happen if we boycott the very first one?

I thought it was great at first but then it just started seeming like it wasn't going anywhere. Now it's just game after game just to get to the next one with each individual game have little to no payoff. In the end it will probably just be a new trailer, which really would only need 1 or 2 games. I guess this is just to keep us occupied. They're interesting to follow but I won't paticipate anymore because I know I'll end up seeing the same trailer as everyone else anyways, and I wont have to fight through 6 mindless games to get it. Still good for those who need entertainment in the meantime though.

It's a game and should be treated as such, people should just have fun with it, those who are getting frustrated are taking it way to seriously, I don't quite understand people demanding trailers, poster etc, today, tomorrow or next week, ultimately none of this matters because the real reward is not trailers or posters or viral websites, it will be the film, that is the real prize.

Gives us something to do until the movie comes out, so Im good with it.

to sum it up in one sentence, i have a love/hate relationship with the viral marketing campaign.

At first, it was really cool. But now, I'm just tired of all the games, and all the waiting. I know some people got Make-Up, and Gotham Times, and Masks, and Wizard World Footage, but you know what? A LOT of other people didn't get jack ****, ****ers. I'm one of the people who didn't get ****. So, it's like, HELLO! Where's my slice? I want more than equal rights! I want EVERYTHING FOR FREE!!!

I like it. It's fun as all get out when it's going on, but the waiting days in between for even the tiniest bit of info/clues makes me sad. I'll live, though.

What I would love to see is a featurette on the The Dark Knight DVD which covers the complete viral marketing. That would be awesome!!!

Personally I hate it but I can see why everyone else loves it.

I just find it hard to follow, time consuming and its something I can't find time to do with my schedule right now.

I don't think it sucks, i'm just jealous i can't participate and keep up :(

Yep. Parts of it are exciting, but a lot of it is just frustrating and tough to deal with. Hell, I know its exactly what WB wants, but half the time I'd like to walk away and just let it be, but then I realize that I won't be able to follow what's happening if I walk away at any point.

QFT.

It's a game and should be fun. People who demand that there be a poster, pic, trailer or footage after every challange should just stay out of it and wait until the real thing comes along, which is VERY soon btw. So, I really don't see the need for all this *****ing!

I, on the other hand, am taking this experience in as much as possible. Today's vault challenge was awesome because if you pay attention to the detail a MUCH bigger picture is coming into play, one that allows you to be transported into the film's setting. If you're patient a much bigger reward, compared to a picture or some footage (that we're going to see in a couple of months anyways), is in store that will absolutely, in my opinion, help you enjoy the movie even more.

Yes, but I can't judge yet... what video game systems do they have???

Just jk.... keep pulling my chain ya fckin bastard <- WB, not poster and meant to sound

Shut up please.

Ohhh, a stalker, eh? Wanna make hawt, hawt, hawt love, walk on the beach, dine on a fine meal with a romantic candle light setting, and curl up in front of a fire place? Call me, baby. I'll put on a good show. I'm into: sadism, defecation, satanic-masochism, Alister Crowley, beasteality, foreplay, and a bunch of other wild and wacky stuff. If you want to know more, PM me for my address and phone number so that we can set something up. I'll wait for your message. Lots of love.

This is what's wrong with today's society, instant gratification. "Tell or give me now!"

They kinda suck. We should win prizes or stuff. I know some people got free newspapers, but there should be giveaways like free Dark Knight posters.

It's a lot of fun, but honestly I wish there were more prizes along the way. I wish each of these little steps gave us something like a movie still or an audio clip, and it all culminated in something really big like the trailer at the end. It kinda sucks that we do all this work figuring out these clues, only to be told we have to just sit and wait for a couple days. At least give us something to hold us over.

Meh I can take it or leave it.

Hahahahaha!!!!

Anyone who's getting mad over the games is an idiot. It's like going into the Nine Inch Nails Year Zero viral and expecting a full song from the album at everywebsite or something, it's a stupid expectation, and not the point of the campaign. The whole idea behind it is to get you involved in the movies universe, hence why it's called an Alternate Reality Game. It's supposed to make you feel like you're inside the movies universe while you're doing it, and yeah, every once and a while they'll throw you a picture or a sound clip.

And you know what? Even if they weren't doing this, we'd probably have the same amount of content as we do right now, not more. In fact, we probably wouldnt have the sound clips (such as the "one rule" clip), just the pictures.

So all of you who are complaining about it just need to shut your faces and realize that they don't owe you anything. All it is is an extended commercial done in a cool way, and be grateful for anything you get from it.
