Legends of Tomorrow Do you think?....Spear of Destiny?

I know its the ultimate Deus ex machine, but can anyone see a resolution to this season that the Spear is used. By having these possible changes made...

-Allowing Thawne to live. Can't see him finally being written out of existence.

-Fixing all of the changes to the timeline the show has allowed. Newest example was tonight's episode about the Apollo 13 mission.
