do you think the wb would possibly give nolan more money...or less?

or just not care at all?

i hope supes doesnt affect Batman.............or so help me god i will bring shiploads of kryptonite to the wb studios:mad:

Perhaps this is a tough time for more complicated effort films, but that doesnt mean wb should lower the budget imo.

DC is really stomping some rear recently imo... theyre really careful about their two main properties. The critics are pleased, these guys mean business.

Theyre more careful than I think you realize how I see it. Singer sure surprised me lol I like new school superman more than old.

We've had this topic before.

It was a lukewarm failure at best.

it will certainly make the Batman folks mindful of what they're doing, not that they needed to anyway.

as for the budget, TDK will get its budget based on its own merits--BB.

What's wrong with Superman Returns, I don't get why people dis-liked it so much and I sure as hell don't get why people would think it would affect the Batman Franchise.

It was a modern remake of a franchise that was dormant, and since it resembled 78s in the most honorable way while making it more today simultaneously, they call Singer a no talent hack. I dont get it either.

Batman doesn't need the giant budget Superman does. So, really, it can make less money and still be a success.

I think TPTB for both franchises cant be overly cocky. Confident but also *cautious* and mindful of the fans and overall business aspect.

I think it's because, in short, it wasn't made the way it's decenters wanted a Superman movie to be made. Instead of a restart that drew heavily from the modern comics, they got a movie that was, in totality really, a sequel to Donner's Superman movies. Add on top of that a rather large change to the Superman mythos (the kid), and you have a large group of pissed off fans. The actual quality of SR as a movie really doesn't seem to be mentioned often.

Granted, I liked the movie, so I could be seeing it through rose-colored glasses.

I wasnt even that big on superman and "Returns" with some tweaks with realism (its all about the tone) that I oh so love, truly made me believe a man could fly

I don't give a rat's ass but even so why in the world SR B.O. would be affecting TDK?

Oh, I see where you are coming from now. I guess I liked the movie so much because I wasn't a superman fan before and have never seen any of the original one's before so I wasn't expecting something spectacular. I liked it so much that Superman became my #2 favorite SH behind Bats.

I voted yes, I think so for this very reason.

I think the WB will tighten the purse strings.

They have already made salary commitments in terms of Bale, Caine, Freeman and Holmes because they signed multi-picture deals.

So Warner Bros. will cut the budget in other areas. I have no doubt.

...but will Superman Returns play a role in the tightening of the purse strings? TDK really should cost less than BB - why? Because the sets are already built. The car is built. Major expenses are already done with. Superman Returns will have no effect on it.

It IS easier to make a batman film... it cost a bit less to make it jump to life than the supernatural superman.

however that train sequence mustve cost a pretty penny.
