The Dark Knight Rises Release date for the TDK Sequel; July 20, 2012

And people still argued whether Batman purposely went after Dent. :funny:

It was pretty much at that moment where all the s**t hits the fan in the movie. Everything starts crashing down around them and the Joker takes over.

How can you even argue that when he clearly says he's going after Rachel. If he did it on purpose, He and Gordon would've ended up at the same place because Gordon said he was going after Dent.

I would say it's actually before that in the interrogation room, where Joker lets slip that he has Harvey and Rachel hostage, and that only one could be saved. That is when you really understand who has the upper-hand.

I have no idea! People are clueless, or not paying attention.

I dunno, up to that point they were still reacting to what the Joker's was doing and still handling it pretty okay, but that rescue attempt is when I feel everything unraveling.

That's why I never understood some people's assertions that the movie should have ended when they caught the Joker after the initial SWAT van chase. It literally would have been half a movie because you don't get the real conflict, and the Joker would have gotten what? 5 minutes of screentime? :funny:

I think it's hilarious when people say the second half of the movie should have been cut because "it exhausted them". Well, for one thing, if an action/comic movie exhausts you mentally and emotionally, then that's a good thing. Second, if you actaully ARE exhausted....from a movie, as in, the movie gets your heart racing and it causes you to tire, the you probably need some sort of medication and should start by walking a half mile a day and work your way up until you can actually jog.

The Dark Knight was great but didn't have a conclusion. In Begins, you were shown how Batman can handle things. In TDK you were shown how people can overthrow batman's power over them. In the last one, we should see how Batman prevails by changing his game plan. I liken it to a top pitching prospect. Their first few starts they'll shut down hitters, then hitters will figure them out, then, if they're truly great, the pitcher will make adjustments and continue to mow down hitters.

Definitely looking forward to the final chapter in this amazing trilogy but I'm not a fan of the release date.

Releasing within the time frame of The Avengers, The next Star Trek and the next Spiderman movie? I don't know about that...

Nolan and Bale signed on for 3 movies if I remember correctly. Someone may correct me if I'm wrong.

Nolan said he wanted to finish the story, so yes I would consider this a trilogy.

And two different directors, and three different Batman actors :cwink:

Yea thats right...
Im always under this impression that there hasnt been a Batman 3.

B89, BR, nothing
BF, B&R, nope
BB, TDK, YAY:woot:

A brief moment of personal idiocy lead me to believe that the title for the third Batman had been released, Possible titles than ran through my head as I opened a new tab for google to search"Batman 3 title announcment" included such gems as 'Year at Yellowknife' and my personal favorite, 'Ying at Yang'

LOL

But such google searches will give you loads of fake articles so dont bother... just wait for something at comic con maybe

Nolan's was never committed to more than one film, he never signed a multi film contract.

I believe the movie should have ended with dent alive. I wish his body would have been gone when they looked over the edge.

It ends with batman saying he will find dent, saying he killed all those people to cover up dents actions.

Next movie dent would be the main villain, develop a completely supplementary personality(two face, think gollum, although they aren't fighting each other), it could even be explained that he suffered brain damage(from the fall, and to cope with severe stress from his actions).

But o well.
I personally didn't think two face was completely two face yet, I felt like it was gonna be over when they caught joker, and then it was setting up another film.

Yeah, I agree with keeping Dent alive. I felt like they could have done so much more with his character.

Nolan should finish HIS story, not eliminate the possibility of someone else taking over by saying "And Bruce lived happily ever after" or "GOTHAM CITY WAS BLOWN FROM THE MAP,the end".

It would make him a really nice guy to personally choose a director for 4, someone who he trusts not to screw it up.

END OF THE WORLD, JULY 19TH 2012...:hehe:

2012 will be an amazing year for films again... I can't wait its going to be the summer of CBM's

Releasing within the time frame of The Avengers, The next Star Trek and the next Spiderman movie? I don't know about that...

Actually, it should be those films that should be worried about Batman, not the other way around. :hehe:

I know, but I can't help but worry that reviewers will compare it to the other "superhero movies" released. It's inevitable, but I'm not a fan of that.

Well since almost all post-TDK superhero movies are compared to TDK, I think the biggest concern is BB3 being compared to TDK, not BB3 compared to whatever's coming out that year. :funny:
