like I TOTALLY understand the whole genetic breeding, but do you think we will see variations beyond typical white skin, brown and blonde hair? Will there be asian, indian, or just plain dark skinned kryptonians?

*praying this doesn't turn ugly, i didn't want to be THAT guy...and forgive me if this has been discussed.*

I want a green one.

Actually no, scratch that, that would just lead to more speculation that Martian Manhunter is in the movie :oldrazz:.

^ honestly i'd even accept that... i'd love to see variants ya know?

I know Smallville had a black and a white Kryptonian come to earth chasing Clark, so its possible we may see other races.

They did this with Vulcans in Star Trek. For the longest time they came across as vaguely asian, until Tuvak in Voyager. It'd be fine to see Kryptonians who resemble africans, asians, hispanics, etc.

Does Krypton's red sun cause them to need melanin changes over the climate of the planet.

Serious question.

I don't think it matters if there's other races from Krypton. Just as long as theres racial identities represented accurately on Earth.

And for what it's worth - Faora comes off as Russian.

You will fine the answer in the prequel comic.

the odds of an alien species from a distant planet even looking like human beings of earth is already a bit of a stretch, without adding race and color into the mix

just saying

Apparently one of the predetermined genetic paths you can be chosen for is to just be Kryptonian Idris Elba.

A scientific theory is that white people are a mutation of black people where the pigmentation was lost. You would almost think that Kryptonians would be all black, including Superman.

In a another version there is a black superman, even a black wonder woman.

I don't think it will make or break the movie. I'm wondering why they speak english and Jax Ur has a german accent (in addition to it already being pretty outlandish that these aliens look like us...almost as outlandish as...aliens themselves! :o ). Honestly though I don't really care either way.

The more "realistic" they try and make these things the less realistic they become.

If there's a black kryptonian there's a black kryptonian, I don't see race as essential to the script.

Well ayelet zurer is Israeli. That counts.

I don't think the OP is referring to people of diverse "ethnic" background who are white. By that logic, it's already quite diverse since the cast reflects Brits, Germans, Irish-Americans, Slovakians, Israelis, etc.

The OP is likely referring to those of diverse "racial" background, such as: blacks, mixed-race Hispanics, Indians, Asians, etc.

I think it would be cool to see an entirely different race of beings on Krypton, unique to the racial types we have on Earth. That would make more sense, and would be, at the same time, a pretty creative endeavor.
