Maybe where you live- but not here bub. That's the average ticket inflation- which means that it includes all the varying prices. You do know that ticket price is different depending on where you live, right?

Yes I know that pal I live near DC in Montgomery County so we usually get hit hard.
I am still searching for a decent link to show ticket prices inflation in my area but that is probably for another thread since this is one is for if people want a re-start or a sequel.

A sequal doesn't upset me, a sequal with Singer directing and that stupid kid upsets me.

Singer ruined Superman more than anyone in the history of comics. I don't think they have to do a "reboot" per-say, just get rid of Singer, and ignore much of the stuff that happened in SR.

I liked Routh myself and most of the cast just not the direction or writers.

Once again - for YOUR area. Not for EVERY area. Once again, that site shows AVERAGE ticket inflation, meaning it takes EVERY number into account for both years and finds the AVERAGE inflation. I'm not doubting that in YOUR area it might have went up- but, in the AVERAGE that was accounted for. Some areas it went up alot, while in others it barely went up. Thus, what it did was pull ALL the data together and find the average of that data. Thus, more accurate than just looking at one state/ place and calling that the inflation for everywhere- not the case.

Gee thanks for stating the obvious do you acknowledge that even a 20 cent raise in ticket prices is a lagre percentage of people when you are talking 370 million dollars worth of tickets....
Anyways I am done responding to you about ticket prices in this thread if you want to continue our debate send me a pvt message abnd we can continue to determine how many less people saw SR vs BB in pvts.

Well, at least you finally admit that the overall inflation isn't a dollar anymore. Guess, I can live with that turn out. If you have a problem with that, feel free to spam my PM box- because won't be answering back.

Well I ment a sequel with Singer directing..I want him back..I want to see where he takes the story next. I just think it is hilarious some people take it so serious and act like Singer did what he did with SR just to tick them off...and yes their are some people on this baord that act that way. It is only a movie..not something to get so out of shape about IMHO.

Couldn't have said it better.

yeah it's just a movie, but in some people's minds it's more. In many directions... to me it's more, because Superman is an icon (yeah, not only in the US ;)) and to see him on the big screen is absolutely amazing. Some other people think it's "more" than a movie, because they can give more critics about it. You get what I mean? ;)

Yes I do

Hey Demonic, I also loved SR- but inflation does come into account. I'm a BOM premier member, so I checked and the numbers definitely show that inflation makes a difference. 2005 tickets inflated to 2006 would actually be 2011 mil, rather than the 205 mil domestic the year before. So, those 20 cents do actually add up.

I don't think he was doing it to tick me off. I liked X1 and X2, and I know he's capable of making a great movie. This movie just plain sucked, there's no other way to say it. Singer was the wrong man for the job, and it's disgusting that the studio had to do a bunch of spin jobs to try and make it look like a success.

Singer's approach basically took a squat and a dump on what Superman has been in the Post-Crisis era, as well as the interpretations of the Timm/Dini version and the version of L&C, in lieu of Donner's version. This was most notable, especially the disrespect that the Timm/Dini version received in the Up, Up, and Away documentary Singer produced. Timm/Dini and the DCAU helped bring back the respect to Superman, and Singer took a dump on their efforts by trivializing and glossing over it in the documentary.
I haven't seen the documentary, so could you or anyone elaborate more on how Singer disrespects Timm/Dini version? Thank you in advance. :)

Oh yeah, darn you Singer for butchering Superman. Fire Singer :down, and start over from scratch

Start from scratch and do it right this time. Let Singer go back to his X-films.

No he messed up X men too. he should stick to drama movies that have nothing to do with men in tights

Start from scratch, period. No more damn crystals, no more loopy plot lines and no more knocked up Lois and Bastard child.

Personally, I want to just do a reboot.

Pretend Superman Returns never happened the same way Superman Returns pretended parts 3 and 4 never happened.

No kid. New Cast (mabye). New Director (definetely). New story (definetely again).
How can you guys not like superman 3
it has more personality than all of the other superman movie combined
chistopher reeve acting was better than ever
it was the first time "on the big sreen" that we saw superman
interested in another woman than lois lane,he even got laid :)
and the fight scene betweens supe and his alter ego was so well done!

superman 2 has just too many bad special effects, just to name a few,the bus throwing ,zod Jesus walk on the water ,superman kicking zod to the curve was the worst one of all .
it' as if they could only afford just one shot at those special effects because of restraining budget !

only the first part of the movie untill supe rescue lois in the effeil tower was good, afterwards it was a bunch of lame special effects.

It's to late to pretend this movie never happened. I think supes can still be salaved. Singer has to go. WB is going to be iffy about fronting 200 million to make the next film if it's even done. I just don't see where in the world 250 million was spent on SR???? I think with that budget a great action packed Superman could've been made. I mean we could have got Darkseid, Apacalypse, some new gods, the Female furies, Kalibak, and New God Technology. Man the posibilities could have been endless with such a huge budget, but Singer went and screwed up, and now no way in hell is WB goning to push that amount of budget a second time.

Some of you speak of Superman Returns as if it is a trash film. SR is a great film, one of the best in the franchise (if not the), and definitely DID happen. No matter what you say, you know it isn't a bad film. Go get a bad film, then compare it to SR.

Singer will do a sequel, yes he will, and there is no doubt that the haters are still gonna wind up hating no matter what choices he makes for it. Already having negative thoughts before the film is even made pretty much guarantees you will not enjoy it.

I could focus on the negatives of every film I've ever seen, and every film has some, but what's the point? You're just making yourself bitter and angry. How about some of you try focusing on positives for a change, and who knows, you might enjoy a film and save yourself some stress. (I can already see the extremist "but there isn't any positives" comment coming. Everything has a positive, just open your eyes a bit more).

The film had its faults, but i did like it, but it wasn't what i was expecting. For that amount of money we should have gotten more. Also it's delusional to think that Wb is going to pony up that level of money again. I think a sequel will happen, but it won't be in 2009, maybe 2011 or 2012, and i doubt very much that singer will be directing.

thank god for nolan.

-_-

lol. I've heard that so many times now I think I'm gonna gnaw my teeth into the monitor. Nolan ain't a damn hero, he just respected the character he was adapting and most importantly, didn't F**K with it. I won't mention any existing or upcoming films as an example. Oh hell, why not.

*Cough cough* Megatron & Starscream *cough cough*

Well honestly, that's nothing more that your opinion. Plain sucked to you may be super epic to someone else. I got all I wanted and hoped for with SR.

IMHO.

Oh it's not all absolutely great in the nolan camp. If he doesn't explore Batman's genius best detective ever side more in TDK than he did in Begins, I'll kill him.

Or you could do something just as bad which is what you are doing saying how great it will be before its even made how is that any diffferent????
Might want to look in the mirror when spitting out comments about haters because the same statments hold true for the blind defenders as well or SR lovers whichever you prefer....

Those kind of comments are getting old..that and Singer apologist...just because you didn't like it doesn't mean others are just saying they like it because of who directed SR...I can't speak for everyone who has said they like SR...but I liked it because I thought it was a great movie..not because of who directed it. I haven't been posting as much recently because pretty much all that needs to be said about SR in my opinion has been said..wish the bashers would do the same thing...move on with their lives and find something else to cry about. And yeah I am looking forward to the sequel....it may not turn out as good as I thought SR was..but then it again it could turn out better..I won't know until I see it.
