I can't remember where iread it on these forums, but soemone complained that Superman in SR didn't even throw a single punch in the film.

Now, how can anyone complain about that, and not do the same about the original Donner film where Supes didn't throw a punch?????

Well he turned the world backwards in that one. So I guess those people thought a punch wouldn't seem as impressive anyway. Naturally as he meets foes that match his power, he lets his fists fly in superman 2.

The original nitty picky complaints, I think, stem from the Passion of the Clark scene where supes gets manhandled like Jim Caviezel. Some say having a superman movie where Lex luthor and his goons throws more punches than superman, just aint right.

Perhaps... though I'd argue that his kid throwing a piano is better than throwing a punch anyway.

I dont get you Wesyeed, you said you quite liked the movie and gave it a 7 out of 10 didnt you? And yet you criticise it at every turn.

This type of thing ruins the movie for some people and it is going to far IMO, how can something like this ruin a movie for someone? I mean i dont think he even threw a punch in Supes 2 did he?

Maybe one or two? Oh thats it, i'm going to have to watch S2 just to find out now lol.

It's not just "the punch" he didn't even FIGHT anyone or anything. And stoping a plane does not count as action. There's no action in the movie and that's the problem.

I wholeheartedly want a sequel with Singer and the original cast back. No question about it.

Who knows, maybe the sequel will kick ass and win over you naysayers who weren't pleased and want a reboot.

I totally agree.

Superman Returns' blandness reminds me of x-men, which pretty much just established the characters.

So I wouldnt be surprised if Singer goes all 'x-men2' on the SR sequel & gives us the Superman movie we've been waiting for. Only time will tell.

Exactly, i think that is exactly what will happen, SR2 will be absolutely action packed IMO.
