Does anyone wish they would have used the Vulture and then left venom for the 4th movie? IF you read the Spiderman Chronicles they were going to do this, I REALLY wish they would have, Venom needs to have his own movie

I was starting to think this as well. It probably would have been best to ive Raimi the freedom to do th villain he wanted without the pressure from Avi. Eddie Brock should have been introduced in a film first before becoming Venom. His motivation is still weak for wanting revenge. Praying to kill someone for his own screw up was ridiculus. And as far as his jealousy for Gwen, he didn't seem to care when she was dangling from the side of a building.

I don't think this movie would have been as big with Sandman and Vulture. All the IMAX showings for the weekend are sold out at my theatre, and midnight was sold out last night, and when we walked out there was a huge ass line for the 3 AM showing.

Venom does sell tickets. There is now doubt about that.

However, Spidey 2 and 3 didn't have Venom, and they did okay financially.

Batman Begins had the Scarecrow and Ras Al Ghul, hardly household names like the Joker or Catwoman, and was a huge hit.

Yeah. Vulture should have taken Venom's place. This movie ruined Venom by giving him 2 minutes of running time then killing him.

Vulture = a bald guy in a green leotard with wings??

Ahem... no thanks.

Well he's better then Marvel's best villain getting introduced and killed within minutes.

They just did a half a$$ job with eddie to me. They should given him more. Captain Stacy didn't even know the guy. Who are you? Gwen gave him the brush off like she was never interested.

The reason Captain Stacy didn't know Eddie was because there really was no relationship between Eddie and Gwen. Eddie just happened to meet her at a coffee shop. She let him walk her home and give her a peck on the cheek. It was more important to Eddie than it should have been.

He blew a friendly chat way out of proportion. It adds to his stalker-like character.

I guess that was part of the problem. He didn't seem to care when Gwen was about to meet her maker and when she was saved it was like oh by the way glad you're ok. WTF? And he screws his own self doctoring photos. Next thing you know he is praying for God to put a hit on Peter. LAME.

Having Venom gave Sam the idea to use the "seduced by the dark side" element. Without this you have no movie since it's what made Spider-Man 3 possible in Raimi's mind. "The next personal arc in Peter Parker's journey at being a super-hero".

While Vulture is no fan favorites though, maybe Sam could have created another storyline and have Sandman + The Lizard would have been a been great selling-point for fans. Mainly because I think Venom should have his own movie. Who knows, maybe Sam Raimi-since he's no fan of Venom-could have given up the director chair with the Venom film for Spider-Man 4. Everybody is happy that way.
