Worth it!

Baseball Boy would most definitely disagree with you.

I mean, I feel like that's probably a body double in M:I but yeah, she's great.

I think so, Chris Evangelista tweeted it and he usually only tweets official stuff

Just watched The Shining again last night for the millionth time. Got me more excited for this, and I'm really glad they decided to tie this to Kubrick's film as opposed to only King's book. Very smart movie.

I'm sure people will be varied on this opinion but..
SK rankings for 2019 films.
IT 2 > Pet Sematary = Doctor Sleep > In the Tall Grass

God, saying this one is worst than It 2 really makes my hype die a little.

It's not maintaining total continuity with the movie, as evidenced by Halloran being alive though.

What were your overall thoughts?

I have liked the trailers for this but still never seen the first movie all the way through.
Its a solid adaptation of Doctor Sleep for 2/3s of the film. The movie is excellently crafted, Ewan does a terrific job as a recovering addict and is extremely likable as Dan. I think it falters towards the end because it absolutely retreads what you remember about the shining in the worst ways. Dan does a walkthrough of the hotel and it’s basically a greatest hits segment, turn one corner and the twins saying come play with us, turn the next and “great party” guy, I was flabbergasted by these choices, and it’s unfortunate considering how well it’s shot, reminiscent of hill house. Mike does an ultimate switcharoo in the end that he probably believed rectifies kubricks ending and inserts the original ending to Kings novel by swapping character places, it did not work for me and ultimately had me walking away unsatisfied.
- Henry Thomas as Jack was extremely distracting in a bad way, this might’ve been changed since the first cut.
-Alex Esso does a terrible mock impression of Shelly Duvall.
-Carl Lumbly nails Hallorann.
