I'm pretty sure there isn't one already, and I do quite like the character, so who would portray him the best?

i have to chime in on this one. This is one of all time favorite heroes of Marvel and the actor I would like has to have a certain look, style and quality that is unique to the character. This will be a tough one to choose:
Jim Caviezel

Oded Fehr

Someone suggested Pierce Brosnan.

Perhaps?

J.K. Simmons A.K.A. J. Jonah Jameson is perfect for Doctor Strange´s Role.

I'm sorry, I just can't see that.

i'd have to say either peirce brosnan or liam neison, even though i don't really like either one

Johnny Depp. Although I've always pictured Oded Fehr. He can do a pretty decent american accent. I'd say Edward Norton but he's already done something similar...In fact I thought it was a Dr. Strange movie when I first saw the poster.

Pierce Brosnan, and it should be a really psychedelic movie...

^^^^ agreed 100%. Brosnan in a trippy Dr.Strange movie would rule!

and keep it just like the comics dammit! the last thing we need is Hollywood puting Dr.Strange in leather suit with black shades to ride the success of the Matrix! :cmad:

get Spike Jonze or Terry Gilliam to direct.

Johnny Depp or Pierce Brosnan. In short, a guy with a more relaxed face. Ed Norton looks either too serious or unassuming.

Also you have to look at this way. This is a comic book movie and which of these actors that have been mentioned so far in either thread is willing to do a movie based on a comic book? You might pay them a good amount of money for the salary but you have to look the film's budget to see if it feasible to get one these actors?

Now that I think about it...I can really see him as this vain and arrogant doctor who freaks when he loses function of his hands...And I can picture him saying "By the eye of vishanti" without it sounding ridiculous too. I'm all for this one.

I always thought Tarsem, who directed The Cell, would be great for Dr. Strange.

Let's see, award winning actors won't work in comic-book movie?
Like Jack Nicholson, Dustin Hoffman, Al Pacino, Albert Finney or Frank Langella?

Jim Caviezel or Johnny Depp works for me.

Pierce Brosnan or Jim Caviezel.     :D

I like Depp for the role as well, yeah.

For those who say's Depp for Strange, this a question that needs to be asked. Is Doctor Strange unique or quirky enough for Depp wanting to play. Remember Depp will always pick the strange (no pun intended) character over normal standard type of roles.

I would say so, yes.
