yes the hulk is classed as a hero but is he really he was made by gamma rays and whenever he gest angry he turns into a crazy green muscle monster that destroys basically everything it sees:hulk:

if this is goin on about the film, then no, certainly not...

he was simply a entity carrying out his own deeds, he doesn't have a secret identity and he doesn't have a moral code to act against.

he did perform some heroics that wouldn't have been able to occur via anyone else but i would rather describe him as a force of nature...

same goes for ultimate hulk, where there is no right or wrong.

as for the comic book hulk, i think he has gone through regions and times where he has and he hasn't depending on the writer, the type of hulk we are talking about and his general motivations against his 'enemies'

I like that. I never thought of the Hulk as a "force of nature", not necessarily good or bad. Interesting idea.

i'd put hulk in the same category as galactus in terms of morality but on different scales...

in relative senses to both, they are both beyond means of government and hence beyond the concepts of good or evil. if they truelly want something, nothing can stop them from achieving it. Relatively speaking of course.

I guess for me a superHERO is someone who uses his power for the better good of the greatest number of people. While some characters are annoying with their "boyscout" do-gooderness ... I think the Hulk is neither Hero nor Villain. I asked this question in the Hulk thread and received some interesting ideas, but came to a similar conclusion.

He is neither Good nor Evil truly, but rather simply what he is. The hulk.

^ I think that can polarize reader's a bit too. At least it does me. I don't know if I'm "rooting" for Hulk, and if I am, I ask myself "why?"...

But the motivation for Planet Hulk by the Marvel U, the present PH storyline, and the subsequent WWHulk Minivent will capitalize on giving people a Hulk to root for.

from the 60's the hulk was gray, hard looking, ugly on marvel hour cartoon show. answer the question. nope hulk is not a superhero
he is the result of gamma ray ,he is the hatred of all inner man with superpowers, unthinkable amount of unphamtomable power at will fed by anger.
I beleive hulk with his abilites grew on us,not like reg. superhero's with this or that. but becuz he was misunderstood, he was a loner
dr.banner did not ask to be or got up one day and decided to become the hulk. it just happen

Well, let's look at it....the Hulk only attacks bad guys and people who attack him, he never kills anybody, he rescues Betty and saves the life of a pilot who is trying to kill him...yes he is a hero. Now look at Batman in Tim Burton's first movie - superficial a hero, but beneath the surface a psychotic.

Hulk isn't a superhero, because hes a antihero. He often has to fight for his life or save some one close to him like Rick Jones. I hate how they want to make like hes a superhero who looks for a fight rather than the guy who just wants to find inner peace. Thats why I never liked the tv show. He shouldn't be trying to help others like thats his main goal. Hes trying to control the beast within.
