Anyone else a fan of both Hulk movies?

To answer your question..It has always been one of Marvel's strongest sellers. Look at Planet Hulk, WW Hulk, Red Hulk epic....

Hulk 1 did look amazing, alot more of the comic movies should try the look. Elfmans score was simply great for the movie.

Hulk's score was amazing. Even more if you know it's Elfman's since he tends to repeat himself a lot but in this one he achieved somethinmg else. And in such a short time!

I think it's cool that there are two different versions, two different takes on the Hulk. As satisfying as it is to see a trilogy of movies by the same director, it's also very appealing to have a new cast and crew take over to provide a different take on the material.

The 2008 movie is more accessable, easier to watch. The 2003 version is thematic, slow, you have to really watch it and get involved. But both are equally valid and entertaining in different ways. In regards to the Hulk himself, the 2008 version is far superior, but again, the 2003 version is more expressionistic, less literal, it suits that movie better.

Having said all that, the best Hulk movie is still the 1977 pilot for the TV show.

i love Leterriers one, Lee's one was ok but yer......Hulk dogs....

Hulk dogs was weird, absolutely. Banner Sr had access to a lab, so he could have used something a bit more menacing, maybe a Hulk gorilla or one of those really savage looking monkeys. Or an enormous Hulk-tarantula, that would have been cool.

Having said that, Hulk versus the dogs is still the best action scene in either Hulk movie.

I always liked the Hulk dogs action sequence too, great atmosphere in that environment, fighting in the forest at night.

I think he used the dogs because he already had them trained to follow his orders.

Absolutely. It makes sense in the context of the movie; dogs follow commands, and they were Banner Sr's dogs so he could have been experimenting on them for a long time with no-one noticing. It also mirrors how he treats his son; he does care about his dogs, but he has no problem doing weird scientific tests on them.

It's a good idea and is well-integrated into the film. And they are very nasty in their snarling, savage CGI forms. I believe this battle influenced Peter Jackson when he made the scene with King Kong fighting three T-Rexes. I just wish Hulk had been fighting something more impressive.

Aye, I never had a problem with the concept, I was always puzzled with folk who thought it was *so* ridiculous. I think it was the poodle, haha, the fact one of them was a poodle was too much for them, eh, I thought making one of them a poodle was a good idea, in as much as going the whole way in turning an idea inside out. It can look funny at the same time as being scary, good combo if you can get it. You can't be taking these things too seriously, it's good to have some subtle humour in there, for the fun of it, because of course we have to remember what we are watching here, a good old monster mash up.
