If there's no continuity between the two, then I don't think it's unreasonable to take his name off the table. That's just begging for confusion.

absolutely... i think for continuity sakes the cast should of been moved to man of steel. im not a fan of henry and im not liking most of what im seeing with this reboot. no lex soo far and the suit redesign makes me think ill be downloading this flick instead of wasting my money.

thats a BS statement to make... tom wore a partial suit and it was cgi onto him... that's good enough for me. i got more superman screen time then i ever thought id see in the finale.

Well we have no clue really if the new comics suit is what they will have cavill wearing in reboot. Also come on so far the cast is all solid players in it. As for lex who knows with lex. One hand be nice to have no lex. Since out of all the live action films lex has been a threat in 4 of the films. Though if they don't show lex at least build up his character. Via newspaper articles on him, dp workers talking about him. To exterior shots of lexcorp. All to build him up for villain position in sequel.

On the hand of sv cast, ya if they where brought in for feature film. It would be best to do to have it in continuity. So all the history/build up is there.

But since we know that isn't the case now. A complete reboot is needed. To clean slate everything and start anew. Something singer should have done. But screwed the poouch on.

We've had 10 years of him playing a version of Clark Kent and then about 2 mins of a dissapointing attempt at consoling the fans in which he did not even wear the suit.

Hey, I in no way ever claim to be speaking for everyone in the world... I just don't put IMO on absolutely everything but some things are so obviously an opinion I assume it's implicit.

But if it makes you happy...

We already had about 2 minutes of an IMO dissapointing attempt at consoling the fans in which he did not even wear the suit.

But I have to ask, how can anyone NOT have been dissapointed, after 10 years of waiting, after they showed us the actual suit from the beginning of the season, hinted at him donning it the whole way through... And then he didn't.

In what way did that live up to a fans expectations. How is it not dissapointing?

No issue fixxer personally I think they got a solid team in nolan and snyder and a great cast so far. So for me I am happy with the delevevop of the film. Can't wait to see who esle is in the cast. Then know more on crew for the film and all that.

I realize that there is a cast with excellent resumes but hope that this does not turn into the old style "Earthquake" or " Towering Inferno" with too few meaty parts for the cast. I would have rather seen Tom Welling in the part. Ironically, to me, Henry Cavill looks oldet than Tom Welling... I am not sold on MOS.

I have to agree to an extent with this. Having rewatched the finale just two days ago I can say the rest of the episode is so well done that it almost makes up for the lack of TW in the suit. The scene in the loft with Clark, Johnathan, and Martha has to be one of the best scenes in the entire series. I'd be lying though if I said I didn't feel a sharp sting at the end of the episode when I didn't get a full shot of Welling in the actual suit. I mean, I've watched Smallville religiously since day one and I didn't get the main thing I stuck around for. Through the missteps I've still always loved the show and the actual journey of these characters so that wasn't enough to even come close to ruining the finale for me. It will always be a pretty big disappointment to me though.

Routh may have been playing Chris Reeve playing Superman, but at least he goddamn played Superman.

I don't know why but IMO it seems like his acting improves when he's in a different role or when he's not playing regular Clark.
