I kinda dug certain aspects of Sentry's character, but now he's beginning to really annoy me. His behaviour in SI #2 - unacceptable.

He cried like a girl and ran off, like he ALWAYS does

Actually, annoying isn't even the right word. I was amused by how much of a complete
Wuss

He came across as.

I am NOT a fan of the Superman WANNABE

I think the Sentry is an awesome character who's been abused.
Over the past year or so it's like Bendis has lost all respect for the character and is making him completely suck.
Add in Pak's bullcrap finale to an already crappy wwh mini and you have a character with a lot of potential that's been badly tarnished.

The original mini was, imo, one of the best comic stories I've ever read.

Sentry is a worthless character.

Marvel dug themselves a deep hole with this character when they started going on and on about his powers. "Strongest hero ever...." "Power of a thousand Suns or whatever..." "Blah Blah blah".... Yet he gets tossed around and cries every other issue.

Bendis writing the Sentry sucks. The character itself, not so much.

The Sentry being called a Superman wannabe is as correct as calling Black Panther a Batman wannabe, which is, not at all.

The problem is Marvel gave the guy too much power, "power of a million exploding suns?" Word? Sentry should be in Dragonball Z not in marvel comics. With that kind of power Sentry could end any battle in an instant.Obviously they cant have that so they have him run away all the time. Also i think part of the original purpose of Sentry was to fill in for Thor while he was away for all that time. Now that Thor's back in full force, there's realy no need for him.

I think the million exploding suns thing is hyperbole, if WWH is any indication.

I don't care about the Sentry enough to have an opinion on him.

The fact is, The Sentry was never meant to be a character that was thrust into the middle of the marvel Universe. He needs to be relegated to minis and one-shots like the Jenkins/Lee stuff.

I don't think he sucks if done properly. I use to think he was Supe's ripoff but I agree with DP, he's far from Supes. I think they are playing the mental angle to much and its getting stale. He can be great if written properly or even if he had a conscience. But still I think before it's all said and done, he's going to be a bad guy when Thor settles in with the Avengers which I'm really dreading becuase Bendis writing Thor...............:csad:

In other words he needs to be regulated to writers who know how to keep him interesting.

Of course you could say the same thing about Superman

Superman could be an awesome character with the right writer. I personally loved how he was portrayed on the JLU cartoon...if that counts.

sentry is a good character with loads of potential, why marvel is making out to be soo crap i don't know...it'd be like making cap america scared of his own shadow..why do it...make him a bit unstable but more in the hulk flying off the handle not blubbing into his cereal mental..

Like a lot of people have said before, he just needs to go into space for awhile. Hell, give him his own series for this. Nobody on earth should be a realistic threat to him.

I say some how separate the Void from him, making him less powerful and having an actual nemesis.

I think the Sentry should remain a lame useless character that no one in the MU can count on in a fight. He should then exile himself on some distant planet until there's a Marvel event where the threat is Galactus....No Annihilation Level threat. Then he should come in from exile, sacrifice himself for the good of the universe and have a statue made in his honor atop the baxter building.

Then he could got to heaven and play Poker with Bary Allen, Uncle Ben, and Ted Cord every Tuesday night.
