Infinity War Does Whatever a Spider Can - The Peter Parker/Spider-Man thread

Meh. Everyone who vanished will all be back next Avengers movie. It wasn't that big a deal. It wasn't a true death and we all know that.

[BLACKOUT]Well, Yeah...its pretty odvious given several of them are signed to future films. It was obvious some characters were going to die years ago. Doesn't mean that it still wasn't bold for Sony to allowing it to happen with their character.

Maybe alot of fanboys are numb to it at this point, but given where character has been on film , its kinda a big deal, especially for non fanboys. [/BLACKOUT]

Spidey was amazing in this movie, I loved it so much! Dream come true seeing him in an Avengers movie!

That last scene too! Tom and Tony killed it!

I would be ticked off beyond belief if they did that. Miles Morales is so overrated, IMO. Peter Parker is the only Spider-Man to me (for several reasons, but that's another story for another time).

Killing off Peter Parker on his first mission as an Avenger (especially after Marvel has been blatantly setting him up as a successor of some sorts to RDJ's Iron Man) would be so ... Wrong. And unrewarding.

We JUST got Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the MCU. It would be so dumb to throw that away so early.

EDIT: And, of course, it would be foolish to let Tom Holland go. He is TOO good in the role to cut it this short. Good lord.

Hold on a second...

Here's the right response.

[BLACKOUT]They're not letting Holland go[/B]. I surprised anyone would even think that coming out of the film. Peter's coming back of course.

If Miles did show up, it would likely be as in the comics in which he would pick up the mantle while Peter is "dead". Peter Parker is coming back as Spiderman[/B]. Don't worry. Sony would never have done the deal if they Marvel had planned ice Peter Parker for good.

Sony already has "Into the Spiderverse" Miles Morales animated film coming out anyway.[/BLACKOUT]

So why did it take so long for him to [blackout]die when it was pretty instantaneous with everyone else[/blackout]

Gosh yes! I was a total mess after that.

SPOILERS (please DO NOT READ until you've seen the film):

Who else is REALLY bummed out by Spidey's death in the film?
Not because of the death itself, but the execution of that scene. The worry and panic you hear in Peter's voice. He's just a kid! And Tony holds him in his last moments! It's so heartbreaking. Good lord. I feel empty after watching that part. It's taken a few hours for the film to sink in and having my favourite superhero of all time just 'fade' out of existence like that, and in such a scared way too, is really heartbreaking. Wow.
His death totally gutted me, omg. This was the one death scene besides Gamora's where i had tears in my eyes :csad:

Dude, I know this.

I'm just reinforcing that stance by expressing how dumb it would be if[BLACKOUT] they killed off Peter Parker permanently and replaced him with Miles[/BLACKOUT].

Impressed truly with Holland's acting chops in this. He does near perfect here. Honestly getting truly lost in his character.

And my God huge spoilers but massive Doctor Who reference.

As Peter is being disintegrated he says "I don't want to go before he fades from existence. A reference to the 10th Doctors exit for those of you that know.

Dramatic license and [BLACKOUT]his Spider-Sense was likely warning him about his impending death so he was literally sensing it coming and was scared ****less.[/BLACKOUT]

That meakes the scene so much darker, never thought about it that way.

They did Spidey proud in this film and it's no surprise his scenes are resonating with fans. They paid off the Stark/Parker relationship very well.

And I totally agree with anyone that points out that while we know that Spider-Man isn't going to be put to pasture in this film that they executed it so well, with that moment being true to all the characters involved, Peter, Tony and Strange.

I was so happy with how much Spidey got to do in this movie. When Feige said the size of his role was about the same as Civil War he was totally downplaying it. He got a lot to do and I never thought I'd see the day where Spider-Man was a leading star in an Avengers movie.

Spidey's last scene in this movie really hit me. I could see it hitting the other people in the theater too. Tom Holland delivers another fantastic performance.god I love Spider-Man/Peter Parker

I love the idea that [BLACKOUT]he more than most would be in terrible pain and panic given his Spider Sense probably going bonkers. [/BLACKOUT]

I was wondering why we didn't even get an Aunt May cameo or why we didn't even get to see her confronting Peter about being Spider Man before everything all goes to hell via Thanos

Where exactly would you have fit it in? It jumped straight into the action.

Yeah but Aunt May surely would have feelings about her nephew being Spider Man or even joining this fight with The Avengers knowing what we all know now

But no one on Earth knew the attack was happening beforehand. Peter was literally on a school bus when it happened. He had no time to run home and ask Aunt May for permission.

Liked Spidey in this movie..but the "Hey Mr.Stark..." at the beginning of every sentence is quickly becoming intolerable.

Holland continues to show me he is the best Spider-Man/Peter Parker.

I’m surprised Parker didn’t try insta-kill mode. I’m guessing it’s probably just some sort of poisonous toxin that he shoots out.

Way too much going on in this film to cover it. It should be handled in the Homecoming sequel.

I think "Homecoming 2" will start with Pete and May scene immediately after the final scene of Homecoming. May will be worried, but Pete will assure her he will be careful. Smash cut scenes/aftermath of Avengers 3 & 4.
