Infinity War Does Whatever a Spider Can - The Peter Parker/Spider-Man thread

I would hope that scene is played out in infinity war. I mean it will be weird that she ( Aunt May ) found out he is spiderman and now she watches in terror as he fights against the armies of Thanos. I mean even if she doesn't see him, she would suspect that he's involved by the simple fact that that ordeal is going on and he's not home .
Nah, no way that this scene happens during IW— there’s way too much ground to cover and it’s not crucial to the main plot. it’ll be dealt with in a Spidey sequel for sure. It’ll be a classic Avengers-movie gloss-over. At most you might overhear an upset voicemail from May implying that Pete is sneaking out as Spider-Man against her parental orders.

I agree with this. See my previous post on the previous page on how I think they will address this in Homecoming 2.

Hope we get some cool tidbits on how the tech on the Iron Spider works. Those web-shooters look GNARLY.

There's no way the bus driver or some child didn't notice Peter web open the window and swing away.

SPOILERS (please DO NOT READ until you've seen the film):

Who else is REALLY bummed out by Spidey's death in the film?
Not because of the death itself, but the execution of that scene. The worry and panic you hear in Peter's voice. He's just a kid! And Tony holds him in his last moments! It's so heartbreaking. Good lord. I feel empty after watching that part. It's taken a few hours for the film to sink in and having my favourite superhero of all time just 'fade' out of existence like that, and in such a scared way too, is really heartbreaking. Wow.

And also how great did it look when Spidey moved? Especially as he was swinging through NY, which we never got to properly see in Homecoming, but looked phenomenal in this!

Totally agree!

It was the one time I actually teared up! :csad:

So can anyone explain now how Homecoming is EIGHT YEARS AFTER AVENGERS?

[BLACKOUT]Yeah, that scene hit me hard. :csad:[/BLACKOUT]

Just do what I do and ignore that "8 years later" title card from Homecoming.

That moment...

...got the most emotional reaction from my crowd tonight. People were SO upset. And someone else shouted "DON'T DO THIS TO SONY!!!" :funny:

Yeah Peter's death effected me the most too and got the loudest reaction from the audience. The way Tony was holding on to him before he went was just :csad:

Definitely.
That part was heartbreaking. There was a person just yelling "NO!" over and over a few seats down who was having a breakdown over this. Kids are gonna freak!

I think we're all pretty positive that Peter Parker will come back in part 2 (as will all of the "snap" victims), right?

Watching all of the characters fade away like that ... Definitely haunting ... But Spidey's death was straight up f***ed up. It was a reminder to the audience that Spidey is just a kid. I was not at all ready for that emotional gutting. As the scene was happening, my husband immediately grabbed my hand to console me.

Russo Brothers ... You guys are SICK people. Sure, Spidey is expected to come back, but I'm permanently scarred. I can't un-feel the devastation I felt in that movie theater tonight. :funny:

Slowly becoming my favorite Spider-Man.

How long will it take Aunt May to realize her nephew never came home from school and is missing (and dead)?

[BLACKOUT]Good on Sony for allowing them to take such a bold move with the character. Kinda funny too, because they could now totally introduce Miles Morales's Spiderman in Avengers 4 if they really wanted to but I'd be stunned if they went that route. [/BLACKOUT]

I would be ticked off beyond belief if they did that. Miles Morales is so overrated, IMO. Peter Parker is the only Spider-Man to me (for several reasons, but that's another story for another time).

Killing off Peter Parker on his first mission as an Avenger (especially after Marvel has been blatantly setting him up as a successor of some sorts to RDJ's Iron Man) would be so ... Wrong. And unrewarding.

We JUST got Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the MCU. It would be so dumb to throw that away so early.

EDIT: And, of course, it would be foolish to let Tom Holland go. He is TOO good in the role to cut it this short. Good lord.

Meh. Everyone who vanished will all be back next Avengers movie. It wasn't that big a deal. It wasn't a true death and we all know that.

And I think the Russo Bros knew that everyone would know that it wasn't a permanent death ... Which is why they made Spidey's death the most heartbreaking and downright horrifying to watch ... Just to make sure we all still felt it.

I know he's coming back ... But damn. That scene was SO hard to watch because of how depressing it is and how chillingly great Tom Holland's acting was.

Spidey's death scene may very well be the most upsetting and disturbing moment in any superhero movie ever. I don't say that lightly. I'm someone who sobbed while watching the end of Logan for the first time ...

Spidey had some good scenes in this film. Glad that it was more than in Civil War too.

He had a presence throughout the film and didn't just disappear. I thought when Stark originally sent him home (with the Iron Spider suit wrapped around him), that he might disappear for a significant portion of the movie).

What are the chances that Sony's Venom might also disappear from existence along with their plans for Silver and Black? Maybe they won't be brought back either. :o
