BvS Where does BvS fall in your most anticipated list of films for 2016?

In no particular order and the ones off the top of my head are:

Batman v Superman
Suicide Squad
Captain America:Civil War
Silence
Nocturnal Animals
Story of Your Life
John Wick 2
Assassin's Creed
X-Men: Apocalypse
The Witch

Only going off DC/Marvel films coming out in 2016.

1) Civil War.
Having Spider-Man in the MCU for the first time after everything that happened with Webb's movies and the Sony hack is just too much hype. People have been wanting this since 2008 when an Avengers movie was hinted at. Being a Spider-Man fan, it's a biased choice, but it takes the #1 spot hands down.
2) Batman V. Superman.
It's a clear second choice for me. Had I loved MOS it could have been a contender for #1. My expectations are fairly low for this movie considering how great MOS looked up until I saw the actual movie. I am still hoping this movie is going to blow away all my expectations and be the movie of the year. If any movie has that potential, it's BvS. I'm really digging Ben as Batman and all he's going to bring to the DCeU.
3) Dr. Strange.
I think this movie is going to be another GOTG that blindsides people and they have a great time with it. I don't think it's going to destroy the box office or anything, but this is a character I've wanted on the big screen for a long time. With the cast they've assembled this movie could be magical.
4) Deadpool.
Reynolds is going to kill it, he was born to play the role. Ever since I watched "Two Guys, a Girl, and a Pizza Place" I've always thought this guy had the natural wit to pull the roll off. You can imagine my disappointment after the first Wolverine movie that never happened... Anyways, the suit looks great, the action looks cool and best of all it's rated R. Had it been PG-13 I wouldn't have even gone to see it, but since it's rated R this movie might surprise people in a good way.
5) Suicide Squad.
Does it have potential? Yes. Will I enjoy this style of movie? I don't know... Depending on what taste BvS leaves in my mouth I could walk into this movie two different ways. If I like BvS I'll be excited to see what else the DCeU has to offer and hope they don't mess it up. If I hate BvS this movie won't really matter and I'll go in and shut my brain off and just hope Leto's Joker is a fun crazy time. It's sad to say that I won't be able to judge this movie based on it's own merit, but if BvS sucks I really don't care about this movie more than it being a popcorn flick. Just being honest.
6) X-Men Apocalypse.
Apocalypse looks decent, the overall tone looks alright. I don't know... This entire franchise has just never wow'd me in general. I'm a huge X-Men fan, but not necessarily of the movies. I love what the core cast has done, I'm just not going to be sad when it all ends.
7) Gambit.
I hate Channing Tatum as an actor and Gambit as a character has never interested me. Plain and simple.

BVS
Deadpool tied with Suicide Squad
Civil War
Dr Strange
X-Men Apocalypse
Rogue One
Star Trek Beyond
ID4

BvS
Suicide Squad
Civil War
John Wick 2
Star Trek Beyond
Tarzan

Batman v Superman
John Wick 2
The Hateful Eight
The Revenant
Suicide Squad
Captain America:Civil War

#1. Then:

Suicide Squad
X-men: Apocalypse.
Civil War.

... aand Jeepers Creepers 3 lol

Overall at the moment I'd say somewhere between #13 and #17 in my top 30 list of 2016.

All time #1, never before have I been waiting this long for a movie, eating up every little detail and information while doing so.

Batman v Superman
Suicide Squad
Captain America:Civil War
John Wick 2
Assassin's Creed
X-Men: Apocalypse

1. Suicide Squad
2. Rogue One
3. Civil War
4. Fantastic Beasts
5. Batman v Superman

1. Rogue One
2. Civil War
3. Batman v Superman
4. Suicide Squad
5. Doctor Strange
6. Deadpool
7. Apocalypse

Truth be told, my number one most anticipated movie of the year is The Witch, because that movie sounds so much up my alley it's ridiculous.

I honestly don't know. Between this, Civil War, and Suicide Squad, I keep going back and forth.

It's in my top five. Let's just put it that way.

Yeah, I'm looking forward to seeing The Witch as well. Also, idk if it I'll come out in 2016 or not, Devil In The White City by Marin Scorsese where Leonardo DiCaprio plays H. H. Holmes, "America's first serial killer" in the 1890s (there's an interesting doc on him on Netflix), I love DiCaprio and Scorsese's collaborations.

1. BvS is one of, if not the, most anticipated movies of my adult life. I grew up on comics and superheroes, but those two will always have top spot for me.
2. Suicide Squad looks good from the trailer and I'm really intrigued to see Leto as Joker.
3. Captain America: Civil War looks like it might be the best Marvel movie so far, to me.
4. X-Men: Apocalypse. I loved X-Men growing up, the movies have been hit or miss, I enjoyed a couple, but I think there's so much more potential for X-Men movies. I honestly wish they would have just completely rebooted the franchise with First Class being the actual team from X-Men #1. But I'm still curious to see Apocalypse

Honestly I'd have to say

BvS: Although the trailers so far tend to take my excitement levels back a bit. I still think it has potential to be amazing. Not to mention, I'm a huge Batman W***e ;)

Suicide Squad: Looks meh, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't excited to see what Leto can do.. Plus, a comic accurate looking Batman on top of The Jokers car during a high speed chase is enough to make me want to see it lol.

Deadpool: I think this movie looks very refreshing and isn't going to take itself to seriously(When I don't know how you could with a 4th wall breaking character like Deadpool anyway) it just looks fun.

Not many other films out this year that jot my eye, not much of an MCU guy. I love the comics but, the films just come across very CW or ABC with a slightly bigger budget. Not to mention I can't stand that they all shoot digital for the most part. And no! I'm not trying to start a Marvel vs DC debate, I do love the characters. Just not how they're being handled.

What I have appreciated about the MCU films is that, thank God, they kicked off the now standard approach to making CBMs of finally gearing them toward adult audiences, even if they are fantastic adventure. They confidently shifted the genre out of its camp phase. The MCU has made all of these characters that wear costumes and have fantastic superpowers feel totally relatable as people, and there is a warmth to them due to the wry humor that the films have. Most of of the humor is based on their vulnerabilities--which makes the superheroes more relatable. They're psychologically very human. They react as we might. They make mistakes and joke about it. It's endearing.

This is something that Superman: The Movie did* (warm and relatable characters) but it was framed within a campy vibe, which I now kind of viscerally recoil from whenever I see it.

The Nolan trilogy and MoS gave us adult, gritty dark realism but not the character warmth and relatability that the MCU has provided so impressively.

I think BvS, in order to launch the DCEU in a relatively safe way, will have to move more in the direction of helping us empathically connect with who these characters are. I think Snyder can keep his edge with the realism and dark overtones with BvS--but he also has to have us connect with the characters in an intimate way in which we feel some kind of warmth towards them.

Just my two cents.

*I won't even discuss Superman II because I've already said imo it's an utter mess; and I realize others vehemently disagree.

Oi oi oi! :woot:

Only messing mate, I am a huge fan of both versions of SII but I agre they're kind of messy, especially now we know the history behind it. If you want to watch a more complete version of it search out the a Frank Reynolds cut, that for me is pretty damn close to the perfect SII and it's the only version I watch now. Pretty sure it's on VIMEO.

The version I recently watched was the DVD bundle from Walmart of S:TM, SII, SIII, SIV, and SR which features the Donner Cut of Superman II.

Mind you, you're talking to a fan that really enjoys (despite the films' obvious flaws):

Daredevil (2003)
I, Frankenstein (2014)
Fantastic Four (2015)

I'm afraid that my reasons for disliking the film lie beyond anything that a director's cut could remedy. :sly:

Batman v Superman is my most anticipated movie. I wanna catch an early morning session so theres no kids and people whispering. Its that type of film i just want complete silence in the theatre lol.

It's my number one, frankly, nothing else matters, aside from Star Trek & Rogue One, but CBM wise, it's number one.

I would be....

B v S : DoJ

Star Trek : Beyond

Suicide Squad

Star Wars : Rogue One
