Super Mario Donkey Kong Country Returns

That's incredibly lame that they're not including K. Rool.

Meh, I'm a-ok with changing up villains in games. Mario has been stuck facing Bowser, or one of his relatives for 25 years and when Nintendo decides to shake things up and change villains people cry that it's not a real Mario game, if he's doing something other than saving the princess... it's not a real Mario game. That's kinda why Mario is "stuck" IMHO, don't get me wrong... I love Mario games, but I'd like to see them do something different with him.. K. Rool was around for 3 games... times for someone else to steal the bananas.

They made Star Fox Adventures on the GameCube. They have also made various games for Nintendo's handhelds, the most recent being Viva Pinata: Pocket Paradise.

rare really should have expanded on jet force gemini i loved that game... coulda used a sequel

So is the game fun? I was very excited to get this game, but then I saw you had to use the nun-chuck setup. I was hoping they would allow you to use the classic controller. :(

Anyways, it's not a deal breaker, but it would've felt more at home.

wait so you have to use the nunchuck??? Me want classic controller!!!!

thats annoying. The nunchuck and Wiimote keep my from using my Wii too much

Ahhh, ok, I just read something. You can use the nunchuck, or use the regular Wii mote sideways. Kinda like the New Super Mario Bros. I guess that's better than just the nunchuck setup, but I rather have a classic option.

And I just read that it's actually a hard game.:awesome: I may pick it up in a few weeks. I just got GT5 for PS3, so I'll be on that game for awhile.

Ok the Wiimote sideways is cool. Feels like the old NES controller

I don't mind the nunchuck setup, it works pretty well. Although the game that felt the most natural to me is still SMG... the controls were perfect. I haven't tried the Wiimote sideways, might try it later.

I'm on the Forest level now and I've only got 39%... damn some of those puzzle pieces are hard to find. It's definitely tough... i've been losing lives left and right.

At first, it was tough since DK moves really easily and slides a bit when you stop. I was dying a lot just on the 1st level. Getting Diddy helped. You lose a lot of lives but it's so easy to get the, I have like 16 now.

Probably won't get to play this until Christmas night but it will bring back memories of Christmas morning playing DKC2 and DKC3.

Single and multiplayer were a lot of fun. Hopefully Rare brings it back at some point.

Hell yes. Those are some of my favorite memories

Christmas '94 I got Earthworm Jim and my sister got a educational toy computer. We both had wanted DKC and it wasn't until the spring when we got a rare spring game. EWJ was fun and challenging but nowhere near as fun as DKC. Nothing beat playing a new game Christmas morning in the SNES/N64 days.

I got DKC for christmas when it came out and I remember very clearly being in trouble for sneaking away to play it instead of spending time with grandparents

Alot of the difficulty is fighting your own reflexes. Jumping when you should've waited, waiting when you should've jumped, etc... that's the way it was back in the day too. It's easy to rely too much on the extra boost Diddy gives you... that's why I tend to die alot with just DK.

Unfortunately I was pretty late to Zelda, and the first game I played was OoT. I remember being in the Great Deku Tree on Christmas morning and reluctantly having to pause it to open presents (I had gotten it the day before). Ever since then I've played a Zelda around the holidays.

I find that's may biggest problem with most platform games, I'm just a little too impatient. I was glad to hear the game is tough though, definitely want to pick it up, just gonna wait, hinted heavily to my girlfriend that it'd make a great Christmas gift.

I'm definitely picking this up tomorrow. Can't wait!!!! :D

Guess what I got for Christmas?:woot:

This game is so awesome! I just love all the classic music and good ol' Cranky Kong. It's a perfect Christmas game really, one for the whole family.

^^
agreed i got it too and its good.
i also like epic mickey which i also got.

Oh yeah? I was also looking into getting Epic Mickey.

I'll be getting a Wii within the next month or so... along with this game.

...And Sonic Colors, GoldenEye, Kirby: Epic Yarn, Mario Galaxy 2... ect. Part of me even wants to try Metroid Other M. It really can't be THAT bad.... can it?
