Behold!(Yes I know, bad)

alex proyas is a great director...
as long as he has a good script and decent actors his movies are great

same with m night. shyamalan

sam is an action star people seem to forget this

Action stars need charisma more than normal actors, they have terrible scripts and terrible dialogue to work with. Worthington may technically be a better actor than Schwarzenegger, but Schwarzenegger will always be more fun to watch.

This is horrible casting. He's too pretty looking and I don't really get his appeal at all. But it feels like he's being thrown into every damn big scale movie now...like someone said, over exposed.

I got the impression initially about this film, that Dracula would be more of an anti-hero, someone who you could like and not like at the same time, but with Worthington cast, I have this feeling that he's gonna be full-on sympathetic character and his transformation into a vampire is going to be such a tragedy and the after effect of it will be treated as such a tragedy "OH NO! What have I done!?" and all that nonsense.

There's a potential to turn Dracula into such an evil, terrible person when he transforms that would be absolutely brilliant to see on screen.

The fact of the matter is that Vlad Tepes was a savage warlord who killed his enemies and his own people in some of the most savage and sadistic ways possible. I have no idea how they can make this man sympathetic without taking vast liberties with history. That to me though would be like making a movie about Ted Bundy or Hitler and saying "You know...he wasn't THAT bad of a guy. In fact, he was kinda...nice!"

However, I like that they're incorporating his vampiric origin from the book, though in a somewhat skewed way. In the novel, he becomes a student of the black arts at the Scholomance, mastering magic and alchemy, later becoming a military man, a vicious warlord. He uses the powers he learned to come back from the dead as a vampire. It seems that with the film, he gets his vampiric powers from going to the Scholomance to defeat the turks. It's an interesting idea, but he has to become corrupt and evil and LIKE IT for it to really have an effect for me.

We'll see, i guess.

pretty is not a word i associate with sam not that he is ugly or anything that is just not a word i associate with him

The only thing that makes me excited about this, is that it will hopefully remind the public what a REAL vampire is. Thanks Twilight.

yeah this movie just turned into a ****e lol

What about the Charlie Hunham Vlad project, this eclipsing it now?

Worthington is only rumored for a lot of the roles that Dwayne Johnson would have gotten had he not made movies for his daughter.

Just what I've always wanted. An Australian Dracula.

Worthington has had great luck and has a great agent.

Until he proves otherwise I still find him to be a lame ass actor with virtually no charisma on screen.

So, this is Dracula Begins then? A reboot? I smell failure all around. You know who would make a nifty Dracula? Michael Fassbender. The man has charisma and can act circles around Worthington. Worthington must have naked pictures of studio executives or something because I just don't get how he's being considered for these roles.

While I'm not as anti-Worthington as so many seem to be, I really don't understand how he managed to get the role.

I mean I can name a lot of actors who would fit the role better, but I just don't understand the Worthington casting outside of him apparently being a "name" star.

Eh, this movie was going to suck from the get-go, with or without Worthington. So his casting doesn't really bother me.

^You do have a point but I think that it's going to suck more with him in it.
