Animation Dragonball HQ - Part 1

Watched Episode 78. I am getting so tired of Goku. It's amazing how Super managed to turn one of my favorite characters, into one of my least favorite characters.

Yeah Toei has written Goku into a corner...and a lot of fans are upset.

Curious to see what happens

Ditto, his disrespect for life is just weird.

The fans caused Dragon Ball to stay alive this long, so technically they are at fault as well :)

Goku was never my fave character so im ok with how things are going down.

Vegeta is mah boi

Vegeta's character development is easily one of the best things, if not the best thing that we got out of Super. Now if he could only finally be the one to beat the big bad.

More hyped to see Roshi, Tien and 17 at it again. I can keep laughing at Goku because nothing bad will happen on his account. He's just gonna keep going full Saiyan until Beerus or someone kicks his ass for it.

Yeah I most pumped for Female Broly and 17 coming back.

I want to see him range the **** out of that park

I'm just worried everyone but the Saiyans and Buu will be cannon fodder. Piccolo was practically useless in the tournament against Universe 6, and he's way above 17 & 18. And what is Roshi going to accomplish? He doesn't even have a power level beyond 200.

Nathan...

POWER LEVELS ARE BULL****!!!

You know this.

I know... but they might as well make Monaka part of the fighters lineup. He'd only be slightly less useless than Roshi. But this whole Tournament of Power arc makes me wish Freezer would still be alive. What better way to make mortal enemies come and work together, than to fight for the survival of their universe?

Or why couldn't Future Trunks have stuck around for like a year, before deciding to make a new home in another timeline?

Eh, not really. He capped out at being able to fight first stage Cell and just barely overtake 17

Can someone give me the Cliff's notes version? See... Watched all of the old DBZ back in the day from Sayajin to Buu Sagas and I've always felt that the character of Goku in the American dubs and mangas was... Problematic. He's been cavalier with life on Earth before for the most mind numbing and strange reasons, not least of which is his desire to "be the strongest" which, yeah, not exactly transcendentally altruistic is it?

Why does Goku get the credit for beating Frieza? Yeah he beat him, but Trunks was the one who sent him to HFIL.

That was then. At least 10 years have passed since then. He was at least once in the Time Chamber to train for the Cell tournament, and unlike Gohan, we can assume he kept up with his training and lost nothing in power. And even if the power increase isn't as dramatic as with Saiyans, I wouldn't be surprised if he's now at least on Perfect Cell's level. The regular one, not when he died and came back with powers that rivaled SSJ2 Gohan.

I imagine that the story was that on Namek the "Sayian" kicked the twelve shades of **** out of Freeza so him dying on Earth would just be attributed to him anyway as it was known that the "Sayian" was from Earth.

Easier than trying to explain that a time traveling half-Sayian from the future came back and killed him.

Cliffs:

Beerus, God of Destruction - Goku, don't play around with the Omni-King. He could wipe all universes out of existence.

Goku - Fakes 'em out with a button that teleports him to the Omni-King's palace. "Hey, what about that tournament?"

Omni- King - "Okay."

Later -

Omni -King's messenger - "Tournament's gonna happen - whichever universe wins doesn't get erased from existence."

Beerus to Goku - "I should kill you."

So did Future Trunks. And he finished the job a lot quicker and more efficiently than Goku did. Frieza was back at it not long after his fight with Goku.

You asked... Why does Goku get credit for beating Frieza?

Because he did beat Frieza. You said it yourself. Stop arguing.

this is the kind of thing that Vile does, he gets pedantic as **** and tries to find little loopholes whenever he makes dumb, broad statements
