Funny how it synchronized with the Broly trailer given the story. Also, in this version they call her a legendary Super Saiyan (the anime had Vegeta theorize something about a Saiyan's true form, but they left it open ended).

Feels like they were planning to introduce Broly for a while, planting the seeds and no-one really noticed.

Except Toyo has written himself into a corner with the next chapter.

If Gohan wins, then you have people complaining that he beat a potara fusion plus Goku had to use UI Omen to beat her.

If Kefla wins then all the Gohan fans and Kale & Caulifla haters will be up in arms.

I feel like people forget, you don't necessarily need strength to ring out an opponent. Would be interesting if Gohan used his big brains to outsmart Kefla, even if she owned his ass physically throughout the fight.

I still feel that Gohan vs Toppo would be a better fight. JUSTICE!

It really depends on how strong Gohan got during his training. If he only got back to his original power, then he'll get his butt whooped by Kefla. And against Toppo the outcome would be the same.

But a question to you all. Do you think Gohan could reach Goku's level, without God Ki? After all, Goku keeps mentioning how Gohan has the most potential of them all. And we know that neither Freezer, Hit nor Jiren possess God Ki, yet they are all either on par or stronger than Goku. So it should be possible, to gain that level of power, without the need to possess God Ki.

I think I am done with the Manga version of Super as well. I just flipped through the raw of Chapter 39 and it's basically the Anime now. If not worse. Just give me a proper full Anime Season of Dragon Ball Heroes, if **** just happens with no rhyme or reason.

Right now the only things i've enjoyed from Toyo's Top was 1) the Hakaishin royal rumble instead of U7vU9 in a prelim fight and 2) Kale's rampage for the simple reasons of me being a Kale fan boy

the rest is just garbage. Toyo's making Toei's writers look like gold.


Hell even KaiserNeko has seemed to recant a fair amount of his praise for the manga

I honestly didn't mind most of the ToP until Chapter 39. The quick eliminations just made sense to me. You've only got a handful of god-tier characters, the rest are basically fodder. The first 5 minutes of the Tournament should have been like the Preliminaries back in Dragonball. Kid Goku kicked dozens of fighters out of the ring by himself. Or when Goku took care of the Ginyu Squad. Lots of quick hard hitting attacks that take lower characters out in one hit.

Sure, that wouldn't have exactly made for some interesting reading, but I was hoping Toyotaro would get rid of the trash, and then focus on the important characters. Dedicating whole chapters to specific match-ups. Vegeta vs Topo, Gohan vs Kefla. Maybe 17 and Freezer vs Dyspo. But instead he treats those important match-ups almost the same as the fodder match-ups.

There's speculation that he's been told to have the manga caught up by the time of Broly's release, so it could be that.

That said, Chapter 39 had some good stuff in amongst the ...rest. Gohan basically embracing his human half to become stronger, the callbacks to Goku's previous mentors. I liked that stuff, the problem is that it needed to breathe.

And it's live. A very good job and well worth the wait. I did like their cover of 'Spirit vs. Spirit' I mean, we all knew that was coming and there's no way they'd have done this moment without that, but it was great nonetheless. And I think they managed to make 16 and Piccolo's moments a lot more sensible here than in the original broadcasts themselves where they already made good points.
