Dragonball's ending

I'd love to see Raditz kidnap Gohan, then Goku still at Roshi's island, screaming out his son's name, then end credits.

I do like this idea a lot. Only I like the other idea too. Show Raditz landing and showing only bits of him to surpise us. They could end it with an evil laugh or some thing. Than we'd know that Gohan was already born becuase this saga has Gohan in it.

"next time on dragon ball 2!!"..."i mean z"

sorry, my humor sucks. only i laugh at that kind of stuff.

anyway...gohan(goku's son)'s gonna be in the first movie?

The planet will explode in 5 minutes and it will take six movies before it happens.

I think it should end with Piccolo being destroyed, and Kami alerting them that a pod is going to crash to earth soon so they better prepare (LOL VEGETA + NAPPA ARRIVAL MUCH?!), and with that news comes the news that Chi Chi is pregnant. Then after the credits show the pod heading to Earth.

Why can't this be an original standalone movie and not a preview of the next one?

Raditz or Vegeta and Nappa landing would be great.

Gohan being born actually make it 3 years later so the next movie he could be like 7 or 8...Krillin comes to train with Master Roshi...Sayians are approaching the Earth

little young to be taking a beating from saiyans and namek(piccolo during training) dont you think?

In the final battle, Piccolo is lying helpless. Goku is about to kill him with an energy blast...but instead reaches down and helps him up. Piccolo is visibly impressed. A final scene with everybody at Roshi's place, including Chi-Chi, who is visibly pregnant, and cut to credits Then add in the aforementioned Saiyan ending, about as far in as the FF: ROTSS ending.

Although the Bulma ending would be a nice alternative. :o

I would like it if they made this a stand alone movie (maybe have a baby Gohan cameo at the the end), but if it was a cliffhanger, I would have jump a head several years after the final battle with Piccolo. It shows Goku and ChiChi playing with a very young Gohan, being a happy family. The camera then pulls away, off into space. It goes beyond the solar system to a tranquil looking planet in some unknown galaxy. Suddenly, a piece of the planet blows up, followed by a trio of pods flying away. One pod breaks away and heads toward Earth. The End.

Not to be a wet blanket but I don't think the 'Pod landing' cliffhanger is particularly suitable for the movie. Now, if this was an animated/CGI movie aimed specifically at the fans, then maybe. These are just a few reasons why:

1. As it is live-action, having any of the Saiyans appear at the end would mean they have to already cast an actor for the role, which adds a whole load of potential complications and risks that comes with adding another actor's timetable to the list that needs to be juggled for a sequel.

2. While fans would recognize what's happening, those unfamiliar with the property would be left confused. If you look at cliffhangers used in other movies, they're normally not important plot-wise or don't necessarily directly tie into the next movie.

3. It would mean they have to commit to how they're going to make DB2 without even having a script or general outline to it. They would have to decide at this point whether they want to have Radditz appear first or with Vegeta or to skip him altogether. Not showing the Saiyans arriving would leave all avenues open.

4. It doesn't give the movie a sense of resolution, which often isn't a good thing to do. This is especially so when a sequel isn't certain.

Hence, I think having Piccolo appear alive at the end, swearing vengeance against Goku would make a better cliffhanger.

Yeah, the deeper they go with the cliff hanger, the more their hands will be tied in writing the second movie (if it gets that far). Any sayjin arrival on Earth in this movie with be premature.

they can end it with a cliffhanger without having to make a sequel.

What would be the point of that? The reason i'm most excited about this film, is because of the possibilities for a sequel based on Z. I think of Dragonball as just the set up for the sequels.

trust me, i would be one of the first people who would want a ton of sequels to this movie but how will they know if this movie will do well enough to merit a sequel. They may have to take a chance that this movie will do well and have a cliffhanger. If it does poor for some reason, they dont have to make another one. The grand scale story that DB is would make me believe that they need to have a cliffhanger. There are plenty of movies that have had cliffhangers without sequels. That's all i'm saying.:yay:

If they add a cliffhanger, the movie may look like merely a setup for Z for the audiences, and that can drive people away. Just focus on the story here and now.

True. However, most movie cliffhangers are related to the plot of the current movie as opposed to directly tying into the plot of the next movie (unless said sequel is already in production a la Matrix 2 and POTC2). Sure, one can argue movies such as Pixar's The Incredibles' cliffhanger wasn't related to the plot of the movie, but I doubt that it's related to the plot of its sequel (if we ever get one).

They should have Nicolas Cage show up at the end as Fu Manchu, cackling like mad. Then immediately cut to the credits, with them scrolling over a naked Bulma while Vegeta screams "Her sexiness is Over 9000!!!" followed by a japanese version of Huey Lewis and the News "I want a new drug". Any other ending is purely unacceptable.

i would like to see an icredibles 2. that movie was really good

*retracts previous statement*

On second thought, maybe it's best not to have Gohan in this movie, especially if Goku is going to be in high school. Audiences might think him and Chi-Chi were...up to something. Now if he were to graduate from high school right at the beginning, and the ending is set four or five years later, that would be something else entirely. As for the 'Pod landing' cliffhanger, they should put that completely after the credits so that die hard Dragonball fans can watch it on DVD wile nomal folk who don't usually stay for after the credits won't have to worry about being kept in the dark. It would either be done completely in CGI or with animatronics like they did at the end of BR with Catwoman.

I think we'll see Gohan in the sequel. Though I could be wrong...

I'm not in the mood for any cliffhangers. . .

I agree with you. I tire of cliffhangers so much. Let's just get movies out there where we don't need to watch the previous ones to know what's going on. It only works if you're adapting a huge book like Lord of the Rings.
