To prove this fact, she just asked me if it was cool to get drunk on campus and write her paper.

I hardly ever drink (maybe once every 3-4 months), but when I do I sometimes drink by myself, but never to get drunk usually just to relax or I feel like drinking something.

To the thread, I drink alone for similar reasons.

For one, it's cheaper. I can buy a bottle of anything and stretch it to a couple a bucks a drink, mixer included. The same for beer. Pabst and Yuengling are cheap here.

Two, safe is safe. I don't care if your idea of safe is two beers and a shot, over the course of a few hours. That is not safe for me.

Three, my house - and toys in the house - are much cooler than any bar here. I love having a drink or two and playing games or watching a movie. Hell - sitting on my porch and enjoying the weather is better than half the **** I'd half to deal with in Downtown Athens.

I didn't know a soul when I first moved to North California, so on every other weekend I would buy a pack of beer and get myself drunk and watch movies or listen to music.

It was the equivalent of going out at night with friends.

When I was single I usually would have a few drinks by myself on Friday night. It usually seemed like date night for most of my friends, so wouldn't have people to hang out with, but just wanted to relax after the work week.

When the weather is nice, there's nothing I enjoy more than sitting out on my deck with a couple of cold ones.
