Seriously!

LOTR required I think around 30 hours to render a frame and WETA won a lot of Oscars for that project. Transformers broke that record.

This is sort of what they were doing with TF...making them bipods I mean.

Actually, they did shadow the guys doing the voices of the robots to mimic their moves, i.e. Bumblebee shadowboxing in the alley.
