He could be Ares for sure (yes, Ares is technically a Greek god, but I think with Idris Elba in Thor, we have all come to accept deities of different ethnicities). Also, he could work for a few villains, such as Rhino (he would be crazy intimidating and badass) and Juggernaut (hey, he has the size and Juggernaut is Xavier's STEP-brother, so being a different color than white Xavier is no problem).
I've noticed people on various boards suggesting the Namor thing over the years...it's interesting that somehow The Rock seems to be immune to the usual race change controversy.

I think part of it with The Rock is that he (along with Vin Diesel) has a look about him that isn't really racially specific, if that's a phrase. Like, he isn't ALL white or ALL black or ALL anything, nor does he look it. I was actually thinking that if he did look a little more "black," I'm sure people would be beating down his door to play Luke Cage, but since Cage is one of the few popular black characters in the Marvel Universe, I feel like it would be best if he was played by someone who was specifically identified as black.
My bad RockSP, you just pointed out that there was buzz about him.
I bet my left nut that at least Marvel Studios would never bank on DJ to carry one of their films. I'll do it on webcam, quote it and save it.
I'll go all pain olympics on myself.
The best, and the most that I could hope for the Rock within the MCU is a secondary character that would allow him to just be his regular tough guy self and not need to actually perform like he'd need to if he were to be Kraven or Tombstone, so yah, maybe one of the Wrecking Crew.
I think he's too big for Namor, personally. Plus I don't like that character (sorry) so I'd rather see The Rock as someone else. I still love the idea of him as Black Adam in a DC Captain Marvel/Shazam! movie, but since that will probably never happen, I'm not sure where he would fit in the Marvel universe instead. He might make a cool Apocalypse if they have had the balls to go that route in an X-Men movie. Or maybe Thanos in an Avengers film.
When has he shown that he can be anyone else but himself in a role?
Sure you can dress him up to look like some Scorpion King, but he still comes off as the Rock.
Anyways I shouldn't get riled up over something I need not worry about.
