Dwayne Johnson - Who could he play?

Okay guys, how about this.
I honestly believe that DJ has everything right to pull off an AMAZING Wonderman.

Hahah that also be awesome, I somehow doubt he'd agree to a role that covered up his chiselled mug too much.

If you're talking about a movie with the creativity and organic credibility of something like Superman: The Movie or The Dark Knight, then The Rock should not only not be allowed to play a character, but he shouldn't even be allowed on set for a visit. He's that damned tacky. If you want a genuinely powerful movie, The Rock is not your man.

If you want a dumb two hours full of explosions and mind-numbing one-liners, then he can play anybody with muscles.

****ING THANK YOU larryfilmmaker, these people make me feel like a pompous dick for not understand the genius of The Rock.
I admit he is entertaining, but he just doesn't have the chops to carry a superhero film like Bale, RDJ, Hemsworth, or Evans(based on FF performance).
I wouldn't mind him as Wonderman simply because I could give a **** less about Wonderman and to me the Rock could play a self-absorbed Hollywood type hero and nothing of value would be lost.

Wasn't he rumored to play Black Adam in a Shazam movie?

I always thought that if something happened to Sam Jackson that The Rock could step into Nick Fury's shoes. Hell, maybe a prequel movie of Fury in his younger days.

Yeah, back when they were supposedly going to do Shazam, The Rock was in consideration for Black Adam, and I think he'd have been perfect. But then they sh**canned the whole project for some reason.

It's a shame... if done well, I think a Captain Marvel movie could be a big hit onscreen because if done well, it could really appeal to both adult audiences and kids.

This is copy pasted from a random person on the internet sharing my opinion on Dwayne Johnson as Wonderman.

I could see Disney easily doing a Wonder Man movie. It would just be more of a comedy than a straight-up action blockbuster.

Struggling actor gets superpowers, uses it to become famous, thinks he's God's gift to the world. Suddenly someone else comes along and beats his ass, he loses all his fame, he's a loser. Then he learns what it means to be a real hero, stands up to the villain and saves the day.

Christ, now I'm surprised they haven't made it yet.

How about Luke Cage? He has the look, the build, the charisma and he can pull off a fight scene pretty decently IMO.

I've noticed people on various boards suggesting the Namor thing over the years...it's interesting that somehow The Rock seems to be immune to the usual race change controversy.

I guess because people think Dwayne Johnson is awesome. He could play Peter Parker for all anyone cares.

i want to play along with this thread, but i don't really care about him one way or the other. so im just going by looks. if you have to cast him as anyone then maybe gladiator(kallark). make him purple and give him a mohawk.

Luke Cage. With the right script he could take a B-list character like Cage and make him a household name and a gold mine.

Can you smell what tha hypno-hustler has got cookin'

I really like the idea of Dwayne as Bishop. I think that could be epic. He has a perfect look for the character, and I'm sure he could pull it off (his character in Faster was pretty much Bishop without super powers).

I'm about to add to that, on another board a while age someone suggested he should play Captain America. At first I thought it was ridiculous but after thinking about it I think he could be a near perfect fit. He has the right personality for playing the nice guy whose also a bad ass fighter and looks like a super soldier. I was watching The Rundown which is a bit ridiculous but I keep thinking during the action scenes if he had a shield he would be moving just like Cap.

Really the only thing keeping him from the role is that fact that he isn't white with blonde hair. And I'm not sure he could fit in WWII era seamlessly. It's an interesting thought.
