With 11.2 midnight this could definitely make over 100 million OW. CA2 has 10.2 and it made 95 million OW and CA2 was a sequel and should be more front-loaded.

Bom predicted that before thur numbers, I think this is looking good for 90+

Hopefully, we'll see. If it gets to a $100M OW then this having a bare 3.0X multiplier to get it to cross $300M domestic doesn't sound all that crazy anymore.

yeah the 82 million predict is before Thursday numbers came in. This is definitely making more than 82 million.

With midnight numbers like that, $200 M domestically seems to be the floor, instead of the ceiling.

This was the best year in Marvel Studios history, artistically. Yes 2013, and maybe even 2012 will prove to be more successful financially, but this year they took on two disparate genres, Space Opera and Spy Thriller, and made classic films in both.

oh yeah TF4 100 million number was definitely fake. It made like 97.5 but Paramount wanted to make headlines as the first 100 million OW of the year so they fudged the numbers.

Not only does this mean more Guardians and cosmic marvel but I'm thinking that the success of this and the upcoming Star Wars will bring back the space opera in a big bad way. other studios will jump on board.

One thing this performance is definitely doing is solidifying GoTG as a permanent comic book, next to Avengers, Spider-Man, and X-Men. Cosmic Marvel comics have a history of cancellation, but this franchise will ensure it's longevity.

This has been a good year for comic book fans. TWS, DOFP and even TASM2 were pretty good (especially when compared to last year's IM3, MOS and TDW).

And now GOTG is looking to continue the momentum.

word of mouth is going to get this movie to make a sh t ton more. holy moly.

marvel right now is hitting home runs every at bat.

with this type of money - they really can go after the big name actors if they want. they are like the premier movie making studio right now. wow.

The word of mouth is definitely going to make this movie go through the roof. Fun fair for the entire family, cute fuzzy things and adult jokes that will go over kids heads.
