Daniel Bryan is the new Shawn Michaels. He doesn't have to be in the title match to get his 'Mania moment, and I really wish people would realize that sooner rather than later because I swear that if childish fans hijack 'Mania, I'm done with being a fan for a while.
You're not entirely wrong, if we talk in principle and broad strokes. To be honest, at this point, I think that the title needs Bryan more than Bryan needs the title.
But, Bryan getting his big Mania moment is important and it has to be for the title. Why? Because that's what the whole huge, spiraling story is all about. Ever since the summer. Bryan getting screwed time and time again over the title he's supposed to win ever since he beat Cena clean. Becuase he's not what the "machine" wants. That's the essence of the story they're telling. And to end it, Bryan
has to get the title, he has to overcome Triple H and shut the Authority's mouths once and for all. Think of it not so much as wrestling, but basic storytelling - the main character always has to face hardship, has to learn the hard way and has to overcome the odds at the end when it counts. If that doesn't happen, then the whole thing has been for nothing.
For what is worth, I don't think that the fans are being childish. They pay for their tickets and are ENCOURAGED to voice their opinion through booing or cheering. All wrestlers get booed at some point; sometimes it's intentional when they're heels, sometimes it's because the audience
wants to boo them for one reason or another (this has been happening to Cena for years now, and on a constant basis - it's not like it's something scandalous or unheard of). Regardless, booing and cheering for whomever the crowd wants, is the crowd's right. They don't want Batista, they don't want Orton, they don't want Cena - they want Bryan. That's beyond arguing. So how else are they to voice their opinion?
