Bethesda Elder Scrolls: Oblivion

Oblivion is a very hard game lol, Elder Scrolls Morrowind was more entertaining then oblivion

Oblivion isnt hard. You can always adjust the difficulty at any time if you are having problems

Oblivion is an entertaining and very addictive game. I can't stop playing it no matter what else I have to play

I could use some help.

I got turned into a vampire, and I'm working on the quest for the cure. (PS3 GOTY version) And apparently there's a bug where the witch lady won't take the bloodgrass. I've searched around, and the only solution I've found is renting the original version, playing on there to give her the bloodgrass, save, then go back to GOTY. 5 bucks just to complete a quest? Pfft. And this was fixed by a patch in the original, but they didn't think to fix it for GOTY.

So anyway, anyone else been through this? Do I have any other options?

sorry cant help you since I have the PC version and didnt run into that.

Ive been playing this game heavily over the past week. I didnt touch my PS3 at all last week bc all Ive been playing was Oblivion. Man this game really sucks you in.

yes, the same thing happened to me. i just live with it. i never sleep or rest until it says i can level up, so then i head to a guild and i make sure i wake up in time to feed on people in the guild and then go out again for a while.

I don't like dealing with all that though. I think I'm gonna try to fiix it. :csad:

Yeah well i'm not a pateint gammer. I dig games like GTA, TMNT (Very fast packed game), Crackdown, Halo 3, Deadrising and Assassins creed. Those are my kinda games. Oblivion can be fun, it just takes time to get to those parts.

I have never found it to be boring. Maybe closing the Oblivion gates but for the most part those are optional

Yeah that seems more like a chore than the rest of the game. I just try to go quickly as possible through that, rarely fight just run to the stone and remove it. Usually works pretty well.

Yea, Oblivion isnt a game you can just run through, and if you do you'll miss the whole point of the game as well as a lot of really cool things. If you are gonna play Oblivion, you really need to be prepared to have a lot of time tucked away.

Sorry for what I said guys...THIS FRIGGAN GAME IS AMAZING. I just joined the Dark Brotherhood and is trying to work through the story mode as well and boy, this game is just a friggan life sucker. Its like buying a leach that sucks the life and time outta yeah. I cant stop playing this game..:D

I used to fight through them, but seeing how repetitive it is, I jsut keep using an invisibility spell and run to the stone as well

Yeah the Dark Brotherhood has by far the best quests in hte game. My initial reactions to this game werent as great either but it definetly gets better. For me, it was once I exited the sewers and was let out into the open world. One thing I like is how nicely the stories wrap up. I wont spoil anything, but they did a good job tying things together

Anybody here got Shivering Isles....I cant decide whether to get it or not. I've complete everything in Elders Scroll....AND LOVED IT. In my top 5 games of all time.
But I dont want to play Shivering Isles if its not as epic or detailed. IS IT??

Yeah, I'd get it just for a change of scenery. Or just read a review.

This is exactly why I haven't bought the game, I'm too scared to get it. Call of Duty has been bad enough, this I'm sure will be worse!

I havent played it yet bc a year later, Im still on the origianl Oblivion with still tons to do

Is it worth spending the money to get the Walk-through book for the GOTY Edition of Oblivion?

For a game like this, yeah. There so much stuff to do in the game you run the risk of missing out on a lot of cool things. It doesn't really give away anything if that's what you are worried about. And if it does, it does give you a warning before hand I think.

Okay, i was thinking bout purchasing the walk-through book but wasn't quite sure on whether or not i wanted to do it. But now, i see that it'd be a well worth pick-up cuz the book is huge and will always be useful when playing the game. thanks.

now i have to decide whether or not what i want to buy. the Walk-Through or the next two books in the Dark Tower series (or finish them off)

I've started on it, there seems to be plenty of stuff to do, great scenery, I'd say it's worth it.

Yeah I used UESP to get through mine.

I know this is a REALLY old thread, but instead of starting a new topic, I'd like to resurrect it with some news about a VERY cool mod in the works:

For those of you who enjoy the Lord of the Rings, there's an LOTR mod called the "Middle Earth Roleplaying" mod for Oblivion thats been in the works for several years now:

http://www.moddb.com/mods/merp-middle-earth-roleplaying-mod

http://merpmod.ning.com/

Middle Earth is HUGE! It simply dwarfs Cyrodiil. We're still working on landscapping the completed heightmap. If you have the PC version of Oblivion, along with Shivering Isles, we have a downloadable alpha of the current game:

http://merpmod.ning.com/page/get-merp

Like I said, the landscapping hasn't been finished yet, but you can explore the huge world of Middle Earth which is really a blast! :D
