Elder Scrolls V - Part 4

I wonder if there's any chance of the HD texture pack, that just came out on PCs, making its way to consoles. Battlefield 3's made a pretty significant difference.

I hate to say it, but some of that stuff should have been in the game from the beginning anyway. Magic death animations and Mounted combat just seem like huge oversights.

Some things like footprints in the snow, seasonal changes, and new kill animations seem silly to pay for as they are just minor cosmetic tweaks.

Others however, like new mounts, house building, giant mudcrab, adopted children and new enemies, I see as a reasonable thing to charge for.

That being said, if they included the snow footprints, seasons and kill animations with an "add-on," pack, I wouldn't really complain that it isn't part of a free patch either.

Yea i agree. I was kind of talking about the whole list being a paid DLC. Im not sure if footprints in the snow or a few new animations alone would be something id pay for

Well for one, it finally fixes the Haemar's Shame glitch that has plagued my game for a couple months! :D

Many quest glitches and the ps3 massive lag issue.

My...my ps3 game...it runs so smoothly again *single tear runs down cheek*

I wish they would fix that glitch in the "blood on the ice" quest. I can't finish it because even though I know who the murderer is and I've caught them in the act, they keep coming back to life!

Ein glitch ist ein ANNOYING GLITCH!

Anybody else having some graphic glitches with the High Res pack? Certain clothing, nirnroots and mounted animal heads are showing up white for me after the install. Boo.

I've decided not to install it until I know what mods it's going to mess up.

Yep. It's had a lot of trouble since the update with dropping in mountains and props really obviously.

Oh well, at least I could finally finish that blood on the ice quest.

The thing that is missing from this game I think is how interactive the player is with other characters. Instead of just silently interacting with characters it'd be cool to have a mechanic like Fable, where you can do different things to get NPC's attention. Like wolf whistling at women for example.

It just jarrs me that the lead character is silent and doesn't have any real personality.

Well that's a common approach in a lot of games, so that you can fill in the gaps in your own head, I mean it's a role playing game, YOU know what character you are, you don't need a game to tell you what to do.

And the Fable level of interaction is terrible. There are many things that could have improved Skyrim, and farting and forced hand holding is not one of them.

Agreed. I wouldn't want my player to have a voice because as soon as he does, he becomes someone else, imo. I mean i LOVE Mass Effect, but all through that game i feel like I'm playing as Shepard, not that i am Shepard. Here, i feel i am my character.

I lost a full day of gameplay thanks to a glitch in the Companions Guild! :argh:

That sucks.

I find it funny, odd, whatever, that with all this talk of glitching and bugs, i can count on one hand how many iv seen. Iv seen a dragon fly backwards. Iv seen a sword just be stuck hanging in the air, iv been launched in the air by a giants club and there was ONE quest i did that i couldn't complete because i couldn't open up the dialog with the character i needed to, but eventually it worked. Thats it. In over 90 hours worth of gameplay and over 75 quests, those are all the bugs iv seen.

I don't mind the little stuff, weapons floating in the air, texture drop out, wacky flying horses, dragons doing weird things, trolls stuff inside trees, none of it bothers me at all. But not being able to finish two separate quest lines is really disappointing because it means I can't play them at all.

To be fair I haven't gone back and waited the 3-4 days to see if the Companions glitch will reset itself, but it really should never have happened in the first place.

(never mind)

I finally made the switch from PS3 to 360, and ahh the difference is palpable. It runs smoother and loads faster. I'm happy to go through the game again relatively worry free.

A big difference I've noticed is saving. I have always hated how the PS3 handles saves (needing to use the XMB instead of in-game menus) and it just feels a lot quicker and easier on the 360. It's not something you really notice until you play a game where saving frequently is a necessity. Borderlands on the PS3 also bothered me with this because there was no way to see time played, which is listed on the in-game load menu in the 360 version but the XMB saves didn't list it.

I really can't stand that. It blows my mind how far behind the 360 the PS3 still is in certain areas like that.

Is that the PS3 or the developer? Because some PS3 games do have "in-game menu saves".

I think what you're experciencing is a glitch, rather than a bug.It happened on FO3 and NV too...scripts conflicts.

If that waiting trick doesn't work though, if you got Wabbajack, you can use it on that NPC. Change him into something else, than change him back again. It reset the AI somehow.

You can also use the Wabbajack to reset your follower stats, since they do level up with you, but somehow their stats doesn't always change accordingly.

Good luck !
