Elder Scrolls V - Part 4

I got hit with the glitch where using an elevator to get back to Blackreach puts you in a save/reload loop, which overwrote all 3 of my autosaves. Last time I made a hard save was like an hour and 3 quests before. That pissed me off. But I'll definitely be saving more often again after that.

I've basically only got the main quest left to do. It's gonna be weird to actually be finished with Skyrim.

I think what you're experciencing is a glitch, rather than a bug.It happened on FO3 and NV too...scripts conflicts.

If that waiting trick doesn't work though, if you got Wabbajack, you can use it on that NPC. Change him into something else, than change him back again. It reset the AI somehow.

You can also use the Wabbajack to reset your follower stats, since they do level up with you, but somehow their stats doesn't always change accordingly.

Good luck !

Is Wabbajack a PC thing? I'm playing on 360 :yay:

Corpulant, that sucks! I'm a crazy saver myself, I save after almost everything, a fight, a stage of a quest, even if I've traveled on foot for a certain distance I make a hard save...I love games where you can save whenever you like!

I played on the xbox 360 and I used the Wobbajack.

Hey guys, I need help with a bug/glitch that's been bugging me.

I'm on the Battle for Windhelm quest for the Legion but for some reason, whether I fast travel to Windhelm or normal travel, I see the city under siege but no troops, and I can't enter the city because it says I need to lead troops.

Tullius is stuck in Solitude, and Rikke just yells "We're taking the city!" and nothing happens!

I really want to complete this quest badly and even after the patch I get nothing to change this ...

No.. i know you're playing on a console that's why i'm telling you this:cwink:

Wabbajack is a staff that you get as a reward for doing a quest on Solitude. The staff, if you hit an NPC with it, change them into something else, and if you hit them again, they'll change back.

What happen is, when that happens to an NPC, they'll get 'refresh'so to speak. Everything about them, their AI scripts will reset...in theory at least. It's like using a console command on PC. So it's a very handy thing to have.

the quest itself is very simple and straigforward and can be done as soon as you go to Solitude.

Just find a scruffy looking fella wandering around between the Blue palace and the bard college looking focr his master

Good luck!

Did you the destroy the wooden barriers etc?

Ohh, I see! :D That's fantastic, thanks! I'm going to head back to Dragons Bridge soon and see if the cell-reset worked, if not I'll definitely try the magical staff. I think I even have that quest on my ever growing list, just need to activate it. Thanks again!

Remember though...SAVE before using the staff. It has multiple effects. the one you want is the one that turns them into animal or something else.

Will do! (I'm a crazy saver)

Will the character take it as an attack? Because the guy I'm going after has another solider sitting in the same room as him and I'd rather do it without having to kill the poor guy.

Yeah, it will be considered an attack. It works just like any other staff, but changes people into random, hilarious things. But you might be able to talk your way out of them considering it an attack if it works.

Weeeeell, I tried the Wabbajack on Captain Maro and it doesn't seem to do anything besides create an explosion and take some of his health. The regular guard, who is also in the room, can be changed into rabbits and crabs and even be killed. I've reloaded a few times and it always has the same effect.

In fact, I can even attack Captain Maro as much as I like, he just stands there and takes it, eventually falling to one knee and then getting back up. If I don't touch his friend, the guard, the guard also does nothing. They only attack me if I attack the guard.

It was a good idea and I really appreciate all the help, but it looks like I'm stuck being unable to do the Companions quests until Bethesda sort it out. If they ever do. Bummer.

(Also, I contracted vampirism...it's tough days for my warrior Nord)

Bummer, dude...

Anyway, it's commander Maro you're having problem with, right?

but..are you sure it's him you're supposed to intimidate? because i just checked and he's only supposed to be involved in 3 quests, to kill an empire, hail sithis and destroy the dark brotherhood.

If it is him, the only other way i could think of to fix this is to turn him hostile then yield.

And on a completely unrelated note, i'm starting to really miss the capital wasteland, so i made my current character to kinda looks like a certain hard drinking, gun slinging relic hunter from downtown DC :

As soon as I saw the bone dragon I immediately though of the battle trolls breaking through the front door in RotK. Serious epic sauce for this vid, I subscribed right away so the dude would make another epic encounter video.

Btw, are all the spells used in the video in the game? I've never seen meteors shot from the hand, repel, or explosive fireballs/electricity before. Or bring back people to life on that scale, now that I think about it.:wow:

Nope. I know the meteor one is from a mod called Midas Magic. The others may be as well.

Ah, Skyrim is reunified and now I have an excuse to kill my former allies with the Ebony Blade.

Here's my "list":

- Mjoll
- Markath mercenary guy
- Riften mercenary guy
- The female companion
- Random Dark Brotherhood initiate
-Lydia (of course I was going to kill Lydia!)

I think Im gonna take a break from playing Skyrim. Gonna finally start showing my PS3 some love again after neglecting it for the last month and a half

Only companion I've killed is Nadja Stone-Arm for the Boethiah quest. I also got Jordis and Meeko killed, but those weren't intentional. Jordis bugged me 'cause she was my wife and I never got the letter about her will afterward, so I couldn't remarry. :csad:

Is that a thing? I thought you just plain couldn't get married at all after your first marriage.

My main character married Uthgerd The Unbroken, they traveled to White Run to live in her house there...and I haven't seen her since. I thought *I* would be the one who disappeared for weeks at a time and she'd get left at home, but I hung around for an entire week and no dice. I'm off adventuring by myself now, so maybe she'll show up again. Seems odd though.

No, you're supposed to get a visit from a courier a day or two after your spouse's death telling you that they bequeathed some money to you in their will. After you get that courier visit, you're supposed to be able to remarry if you approach someone else with the Amulet of Mara on. Unfortunately, like a lot of things in Bethesda's games, marriage is somewhat bugged. Never getting the courier visit after a spouse's death is extremely common.

Your issue with spouses never actually going to the house you move them into is also fairly common, although I think it's only with a handful of spouses. I know the priestess from the temple in Markarth is marriageable but never moves anywhere, regardless of what you tell her. Uthgerd may be similar. Have you tried checking the inn in Whiterun again? She may just never have gone anywhere.

Good idea, I'll check the inn. I read there's a bug with Uthgerd where she just disappears sometimes and never returns, marriage or not. Another thing for them to patch I guess.

I've been wondering something about a thing related to the main quest and The Blades:

The Blades tell you that you're allowed to recruit three followers into their wee gang. I recruited one, and then carried on with the rest of the story, and at some point they asked me to kill Parthanax. I don't want to kill Parthanax and as far as I'm aware there's not much reason to anyway because it's the last quest for them.

My question is: Even though I haven't killed Parthanax, can I still recruit two more followers into The Blades? I quite like the idea of choosing capable people I meet to become professional dragon hunters.

Thanks!

I don't believe so man. If you don't do that for the Blades, they want nothing to do with you.
