Elder Scrolls V - Part 6

So I'm finally getting into Skyrim, I finally get why everyone has a ***** for it.

I've had the game since January, I put around 24 hours into it. But then stopped to replay ME2 in Feb & then I've been playing ME3 ever since March. But I was really bored last weekend so I decided to hop back into Skyrim & the game has finally clicked with me. Can't wait to put more time into it.

It's fine to kill her as long as you drop a cool pun after. Kinda like Total Recall: "Consider dat a divorce."

...also, we're talking about your Skyrim wife, right? lol

Re: Spousal Murder (in the game, anything else is a separate forum)

I didn't want to kill my character's wife either, but I did want her out of the way. I started taking her on adventures with me and, as luck would have it, the Thalmor killed her while on a rescue mission (my character already possessing a deep hatred for those snooty Elves). The downside was the game bugged out and I haven't received a last-will or whatever it's supposed to be from a courier. As is my understanding, you cannot get remarried until receiving your first spouse's will.

I werewolf'ed out and killed mah wife under the headcanon that I had lost control.

>_>

<_<

Haha yea I'll just say she was the sister of that lady who kidnapped me and tried to get me to join the DB.

Hah another possibility.

something I've noticed in the 360 version and the PC verseion...

PC version: when you pick up a plate, or a pot, or a kettle, you can set it in certain areas and positions, and even set it on counters or back where it fell
360 version: you can't do this

i have a habit of running into things while i run, and dont like it when things fall off... anyone know if there is a way to reset things in their proper place if you bump into them in the 360 version?

The new DLC looks cool, I'm glad it's cheap. I already like decorating my house in Skyrim, so getting to make my own one & make it larger is cool. Will we be able to make it near a city or will it be on its own out in the wilderness?

Apparently it's 3 sets of land in different holds. You can buy all three though.

Heh...how do you decorate your present home? i'm curious...

Back in the capital wasteland, i filled my house with garden gnomes...in Skyrim, it's linen wraps and skulls..

You FREAKIN' weirdo!!

...I took to collecting Nuka Cola products and displaying them on a desk. Oh, and the various unique helmets of the people I'd killed all went on the shelf. :woot:

It'd be sweet if Hearthfire had similar options like Fallout where you could "theme" your house as well as decorate it. So if you're a wizard or something, chose the "dark castle" theme and it adds cobwebs and all sorts of crap. Then, if you're a Nord warrior or something, the "nord" theme would make it all cozy with fur rugs and crap.

I'm guessing it's not that deep, though.

Only three plots? Surely there must be more than three.

LOL!

I've also done the Nuka Cola bit...before that, i filled my house in megaton with...plungers!:woot:

And yeah, the 'theme'your house would be a welcome option...definitely!

I've never decorated my house with stuff in any of Bethesda's games after Morrowind. Probably because I got it all out of my system in that game. I really went all out. The fortress that I owned wasn't imposing enough, so I lined all of the outside walls with skulls lit up by red candles. Inside the walls I made several pillow forts. I used the house of one of my servants to display the helmets of every guard I killed. I of course decorated my main house with all of my favorite weapons, armor, artifacts, and other oddities. My favorite of which being an Argonian head on a plaque.

For some reason I initially read that as "pillow farts" and proceeded to laugh hysterically.

I tried to theme decorate in Oblivion kinda, but it got a bit creepy. I usually play my assassin's as grey area anti-heroes, but I wanted to try a power hungry necromancer whose home looked like that of someone who messed with dead bodies. So I decorated his mansion with the usual troll, and human skulls, lured a few homeless npc's inside and left their bodies laying around, placed a few daedra hearts and human skin around, and the cherry was the severed head of the DB's traitor mother. I finished decorating, looked around, thought "WTF did I do?", and moved to a different city, lol.

Even though I do like decorating the in game homes in this series, it usually just boils down to trophies. Weapons, and armor from tough NPC's. Maybe put out a bowl with jewels in it, and put a few alchemical or food items on a shelf or table. It does leave the homes looking vanilla. So I agree that Fallout inspired themes would be welcomed.

I still probably will wait to get it though. I was excited for Dawnguard, but since it's delay I've moved on to other games. I'm more than sure I'll pop Skyrim in again down the road. So I'll probably just get all the DLC at once (These 2 + whatever else they put out at that point).

That's...unfortunate for a lot of ps3 players. I guess Beth learned the hard way when they released FO3 and NV for PS 3 and it was reportedly more buggy than the XBOX version.

That said, beth always been very supportive of their fans. I'm sure dawnguard will be out for PS 3 soon enough.
