Elder Scrolls V - Part 6

I definitely won't be picking up Hearthfire day one, but later on down the line, when I have all the major DLC packs, I might get it. The amount of time I actually spend in my house is so freaking minor compared to the rest of my playtime, it seems almost like a waste of money for me, personally...but it would be a damn shame to not have the complete Skyrim experience...

Eh, not the dlc i was hoping for, but im in. Cant wait to jump back into skyrim

Regarding the children, I wonder, will they grow up? The video mentions 'raising' them, but does anyone know if we'll actually see them evolve into adults, or just be stuck with an needy (all be invincible) adolescent forever? It would be kind of neat if they grew up and could then become a follower.

Another thing that I've had to ask myself is, would this DLC suit my character? It certainly wouldn't suit my 'main' character, who is very nomadic. My secondary fellow, a hardcore Stormcloak, it could suit him. And the third, my power hungry mage, it could perhaps suit him if there are (as Balthus mentioned) other style options available.

i think this is an absolutely amazing add-on! :) this add-on means a lot to me as i spend a lot of time in my house, making it look nice, trying to pretty it up in any way i can (even though you cant do much right now), so for those like me, who like the option of simply living in the game as well as doing the main quests, this is an incredible add-on, and it gives me more to do, as well as have a family... which is awesome, by the way :) my question is will the spouse still be able to have a shop so that he/she can make money while you're out doing quests...

that would be great to see, if they actually let them grow up... that way they can fight alongside of you later on in other quests- oh, i hope they make that a reality.

this was the stuff i was really hoping for... a more adult version of Fable

Probably, I mean Lydia is still making money even though she is out on quests with me all the time.

(what's interesting is that you spoke of the VG character in the 1st person...)

if that be the case, then awesome :)

Oh no, I placed myself in the shoes of my character in a role playing game!?

Run for the hills!

what does Dawnguard have to offer anyways?

new quest line, 2 new castles to explore, new weapons, new armor and a vampire and werewolf perk tree. Not terribly much but if ur really jonesin for more Skyrim( like i always am) its worth it.

^^ to add..new combat animation and weapons (crossbow)

And a cool companion!

And a few other things...

you can do Skyrim while doing all the other quests. Its not on separate area.

WTF? I just read the write up on IGN and it looks more like they are turning this thing into the Sims. Whats the point of this DLC?

Not quite what gets me excited but I can see the appeal for others. Cool that you're getting so much out of it, and at such a low price.

The DLC is for the people who plays this game doing more than just finishing quests, and just enjoys actually 'living' in the game so to speak.

I do that too...just walking around in Whiterun, going to the local watering hole and things like that, or just taking a stroll and enjoying the beautiful scenery..

Sounds boring to some people, but quite a few people likes doing that kind of things.

And speaking of beautiful sceneries...

No mods...just plain vanilla Skyrim

i was hoping for something like this, because when i bought this game, they told me it was like Fable, except for a more adult audience... and i really do want that in this game.

i hope they make many more add-ons like this in the future

I think Hearthfire sounds really cool. Though, IMO it should've been a day one type of thing. I won't be buying it, because I have traded in Skyrim (finished all of the guilds, most of the major sidequests, the Civil War and the main quest). Eventually I will jump back into Skyrim when a GOTY edition is released. But not until then.
