I'm suprised there's no thread for her yet but she was also confirmed to be part of guardians of the Galaxy volume 2.

Anyway, I'm so glad this supremely talented actress is appearing in the marvel u. Who do you reckon she is playing?

It's an out there theory but I reckon she could be Lilandra Neramani. I assume fox only has rights to the mutants so she might just be in a legal blind spot that would allow her to appear and she would be perfect as lilandra!

I'm going with Moondragon as well. I'm pretty sure FOX has not only mutants, but all strongly X-Men related characters as well. So the Shi'ar and Strontians, the Brood, Technarchs, etc. won't be showing up in GotG any time soon.

I'd say Moondragon, as she would suit that part. She could be Super Giant or Proxima Midnight of the Black Order, but if they're not dealing with Thanos in this film, then it's unlikely she would be one of those two. Plus they're more lackeys than actual characters.

As for having two bald women, well Nebula would be a different colour to Moondragon so they should look different.

Somehow I don't think she'd dress like this though:

Even though it would be nice for her and Mantis to be in their classic costumes.

But physically, I think she does quite resemble Moondragon.

^ While I agree it would have to be changed, I don't know if it has to be changed entirely. I think a toned-down variant of that could work (although, admittedly, a google image search shows cosplayers that have apparently taken the least practical interpretation of that image).

The Shi'ar are owned by Fox because Fox owns the rights to X-Men characters and that's what Lilandra and the Shi'ar are. It isn't a legal blindspot. Do you think Moira MacTaggert is a shared character just because she isn't a mutant?

Anyway, I'm really hoping for Moondragon. I think she could pull off the look. She sort of flirts the line between good and evil and I wonder if they're looking for an bad character (since we haven't heard who the villain is yet). Otherwise, that's my pick.

I'm hoping for Moondragon as well. Debicki would fit her perfectly imo. Also Moondragon being Drax's daughter would fit this movie PERFECTLY!! As James Gunn has already said, it's already a franchise built around parents and children (Starlord and his mom, Thanos's dynamic with Gamora and Nebula, Starlord's twisted surrogate father/son dynamic with Yondu, etc). And Drax's entire motivation in the first film was avenging his family, and still is to a degree.

Now can you just imagine his reaction if he learns that his daughter is not only still alive, but has been corrupted and turned into yet another "weapon" by Thanos. You immediately give both of them some serious potentially emotionally gripping character stuff. And it's even more interesting given how overtly hostile he was towards Gamora in the first movie for, essentially the same thing.

Gunn did a revamp with original Guardian member Yondu and could do the same with Nikki.

I always got the impression Nikki was quite short, and she was not someone of such imposing stature or intimidating personality which is how Debicki could come across. Debicki has an almost ethereal look and presence, which would be perfect for Moondragon. I just hope she shaves her head for the role like Karen Gillan did. I do not want to see a Moondragon with hair.

And Moondragon has sometimes fallen more on the villainous side. If the plot has anything to do with the Celestial Madonna, then it would make sense to have both Mantis and Moondragon in the same film.

And while her costume doesn't have to be "Borat style", it could be still similar to some of the old Star Trek costumes the alien women would wear back in the 1960s.

I don't know about how she is portrayed in recent comics, but I never have had the impression Moondragon is butch at all. Unless you mean that just because of her bald head.
