Ella Jay Basco is Cassandra Cain aka Batgirl / Black Bat / Orphan

I would be kind of ticked if this became what people think Cassandra is.

I kind of dread the idea that Canary's look in this movie might "stick", but I don't suppose it'll happen. In Cassandra's case, she didn't seem to come up in those Twitter reactions, so it doesn't look like she's much of a standout in the film. Well, people who don't know comics Cassandra will think that she's whatever the movie says she is, at least until some other movie/show tells them otherwise, but I doubt it'll impact the comics or future adaptations.

IMHO, Cassandra Cain is the worst part of the movie. Ella Jay Basco is just your average annoying troublemaking teen kid who is shoehorned in. She's a letdown.

She's this movie's version of Russell from Deadpool 2, but not as talented as Julian Dennison. Not saying this to be mean, just didn't care for the character or Basco's performance.

It's basically the cliched role of attaching a precocious kid with the hero, ie Jack Reacher 2, Iron Man 3, Deadpool 2, Elektra, and dozens of other films.

Cassandra was also the crux of the story, so her being among the weakest or worst part downgrades BoP as a whole.

Then dammit, I ain’t seeing the movie.

They screwed over my favorite character in the cast. And the same week DC released that Shadow of the Batgirl book, AKA, white Cass is still the best Batgirl, but now for new readers.

Hmm, I’m usually not a fan of the precocious kid character in those kinds of roles.

It is what it is. These types of characters tend to always follow the same predictable arc.

I just wish they didn't have to waste Cassandra Cain with this type of character cliche and make her into Russell from Deadpool 2 v.2.0

I liked the actress but she was Cassandra Cain in name only.

I wished they came up with a original name for this character instead of using the name of Cassandra Cain. Its a shame they turned a cool badass character with a interesting but tragic backstory from the comics into being Harley's troublemaking sidekick. Personally "Cassandra Cain" was one of the weakest points from the movie.

The kid was fine, just a waste calling her Cassandra Cain.

Aside from the more recent connections to the Birds, I don't understand why they bothered to have her be Cassandra Cain. I thought maybe they'd have her cut loose with some uber-violence in the final sequence, but...meh.

They should have used Holly Robinson or something.
