True dat, CaptainStacy.

Another man's garbage is another man's treasure. And, so far, this looks like a treasure to me. Green F'n Goblin, crazy ass old man that he is, leading a team of super villains. That's priceless.
All I'm hearing is a bunch of "Wah wah wah, I'm not getting my way". Suckas.![]()
Themanofbat said:It has absolutely NOTHING with getting my own way and EVERYTHING to do with the fact that Ellis cannot write established characters while respecting the work of others gone by.
If this was being written by a writer who has a bit of respect for continuity, I might be all over it.
But Ellis has proven on MANY occasions that while his own creations are genius, he spits on continuity to tell "his" own tales.... and I'm not in a position to inflate his already oversized ego.
And that folks, is my two cents.

Um, yeah. One of the main reasons Slott is a fan-favorite is because he knows his continuity and he respects the work of past creators and the huge, interwoven tapestry that the Marvel universe was in its prime. Ellis likes to play in his own sandbox and ignore everything else.SpideyInATree said:So, everyone just dislikes Ellis than?
Ok. So, say the same characters were debuting in the book but now the writer is say....ooooooo....DAN SLOTT! Would it be easier to swallow if it were Slott, a blazing fan favorite?

roach said:it doesnt matter if Stan Lee was the writer on this book there is no feasible reason for these guys to be on this team
SpideyInATree said:And if Stan Lee wrote this it would have the most CORNY dialogue EVER. Man, did you READ that Stan Lee Meet Spider-Man? Holy crap I thought I was back in the 60's.![]()
Amazing Man-Spider? That'd be cool. 22 pages of stark-raving mad, mutated spider action every month.gildea said:I actually thought the dialogue was perfect in that.
Really i want stan back on AMS.

SpideyInATree said:I guess we just differ. Spider-Man was acting like such a wimpy loser in that book.
"Oh, Stan I want to quit! Wah wah wah!" How many times have we dealt with that as Spider-Man fans? Like a MILLION times?![]()
CaptainStacy said:Oh, im DEFINITELY checking this out! Can't wait. I mean, i love the current series (wish Fabs and company were handling the new direction), but let's be honest; sales were in the toilet, about to be flushed...
At least this way, we still have Melissa & Dr.Chen, interaction with some cool new (to the book) villains, and fodder for the anti-Marvel set to ***** about...
I mean, EVERYBODY wins!
TheCorpulent1 said:To be honest, fans of Thunderbolts have been losing for a while. I just dropped T-bolts altogether a couple of months ago because it had just gotten lame.
CaptainStacy said:I dunno...his version of Hellstorm (Son Of Satan) seemed like a vast improvement to ME. Which established characters has he messed up? (honest question)

Thank you! I thought I was the only person who hated Ellis' bastardization of X-51 in Nextwave.Themanofbat said:Machine Man, for one, in Nextwave.
He "needs" beer????![]()

Ellis is a joke.
I've yet to read Hellstorm, but the original version was cool enough for me.

I haven't actually seen it. I liked the X-51 series. I'm not a big fan of the Machine Man as Bender concept here.TheCorpulent1 said:Thank you! I thought I was the only person who hated Ellis' bastardization of X-51 in Nextwave.
