The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Emma Stone IS Gwen Stacy

Emma is still contracted for a third movie, so even with Gwen's death, we haven't seen the last of her in the franchise.

That's pretty standard (3 contract deal) and that doesn't mean they have to use her, it simply means if they decide they want her in the movie, she can't refuse.

I can see her coming back in either flashbacks, or 'haunting' Peter ala Capt. Stacy.

In two very recent interviews with her, Emma has been behaving and talking as if she's fulfilled her contractual obligations with the franchise, which does lead me to wonder whether or not the reports of her being contracted for a third film were either false from the beginning or are no longer true as of this current moment, but there is a part of me that still believes that we'll see her again in some capacity.

She does specifically mention Clones in a recent interview she did with Cinema Blend, and I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Webb and Co. do seriously consider adapting that particular storyline - or at least elements thereof - in future films.

Emma Stone is what sold me out to see the first movie in the first place. Her acting alongside Garfield is incredible, the two of them mesh so well and it makes the romance in the movies just that much better. The humor they share in the films adds to as well. I just love her and I was so sad to see her die but I love that they fulfilled the comics and stuck with her death.

I hope so, maybe she will appear as Uncle Ben did in SM2? In some sort of daydream conversation?

I want to Peter go to her grave and simply tell her what's is going on his life :csad:

I was thinking that she could appear in dreams where Peter thinks that she still alive or when he is taking out the symbiote,he feels defeated and is crouched in the floor looking down, then Gwen from behind places a hand on his shoulder and --- (all in his mind of course)

I especially love that first idea, reminds me of Blue in a way! The second would be a great backstory for the symbiote, I would love to see something along these lines in ASM3 seeing as Gwen was the best thing in the ASMs for me.

I watched the film with my 10 year old brother, he's very sensitive and I was desperate to cry in that scene but had to hold it in otherwise he would get upset = makes it so much worse. :csad: I didn't expect to be so affected by that scene.

I was kinda in that situation,but i teared a bit:csad:

I had to wait until I got home and had a moment alone. I felt like getting an old tape recorder out and talking to Gwen myself. :csad: I really hope they don't rush into a new love interest in ASM3, I'd rather see Peter living with Gwen's shadow lurking over a little longer but then again I like torturing myself clearly.

Gwen don't need to be alive to play a big role in the next one, like i said before it would be heartbreaking to simply see Peter talking to Gwen in her grave during some parts of the movie.

Exactly! You could even have Peter sitting inside the clock tower and leaving a flower there or something. I'm not ready to let her go neither should Peter nor the franchise! :woot:

Perfect..just perfect

Whilst I'm thinking about it, perhaps in a hypothetical scene in the clock tower Peter could be sitting beside that fateful cog, reminiscing on what happened, stopping it with his hand and trying to reverse the motion. Every time he lets go, the motion continues and this increases his frustration, to the point where he breaks down in tears and starts pounding at the cogs inside. That's just another idea off the top of the noggin!

There must be a scene like that... maybe at the beggining of the movie.

You can still focus in Peter&Gwen.

I was listening to Josh Horowitz's podcast with Marc and they bring up the point that TASM3 obviously won't have that Peter and Gwen magic anymore. Now that Emma's gone, what do you guys think can/will replace that entity in TASM3?

Emma isn't gone, and nobody will replace her.

I'm not too sure they will replace that magic unfortunately, I had originally hoped [BLACKOUT]Emma would be spared until ASM3[/BLACKOUT]. If anything, Peter could have a female companion who tries to get to know him but whom he shuts out at each attempt. Eventually she breaks through at the end and he confides in her about Gwen. Thats how I personally would like to see any potential love interest handled. It might make for a nice dynamic which could be be built upon for ASM4.

To be honest, I knew she would die in this one as soon as they announced Chris Cooper as Norman Osborn.

Obviously he didn't do the deed but still...

Anyway, as time went on it became more obvious, but half way through the film I thought, "they're not gonna do it. No way. Emma's too amazing in this.".

By the end, I was convinced she wouldn't die. Then she died, and I cried.

My first time crying at a movie.
