They did this one right. Even right down to the voice of the Beast, if I didn't know better I'd say they used the voice from the classic film which was a pleasant surprise. The cinematography and set design also looks amazing. It brought me back to being a kid again.

I noticed that too. Beast sounds exactly like the animated version. However, Watson isn't doing anything for me right now which may hopefully change.

There really looks like there's not much wiggle room for this movie. At least with Jungle Book it really came across more like it's own thing with homages to the original cartoon, those images above look almost like shot for shot remakes.

i have a problem that disney doesnt want to scare little children. i dont think you need to scare them for life. but we all grew up with movies .....with kids movies that had shots that scared us. or characters.

OK make the Beast more cute fine. but he is still the beast. an 8 year old should be afraid of him ...just a little.

I like the trailer (that music!), but I want to be honest... the Beast looks a lot better in still pictures than in motion. On the plus side, for some reason I really like what I'm seeing of Gaston.

You know... when you put it that way, it does sound really depressing.

EDIT: I meant, Gugu playing a feather duster is depressing, not her not playing Belle. Watson is fine.

OK, my opinion of the trailer:

I liked it, but for some reason I was disappointed. And that reason is that there was no musical in the trailer. I needed to see (and hear) some parts of ''Belle'' and ''Be Our Guest'' but I understand that this is trailer 1. They will keep the great stuff for the next trailer.

Pros:
Academy Award for Production Design
Academy Award for Costume Design
Beast sound great
Cogsworth and Lumiere looks amazing.
The Music

Cons:
No Musical elements
Generic trailer. Very Disney.
Beast does look great in terms for CG, but I don't love the design. It's OK, but I don't love it.
Way too dark. I needed more scenes from the beginning (the Belle song).

Now I need to see more, but that trailer made me move the movie down from my number one spot for most anticipated film of 2017.

Same here, Emma is not well cast here, at all. The rest of the cast is but the Beast design is kinda awful

Yeah I had no problems with her here. Also it's a freaking trailer, how many times have trailers been misleading exactly (hint, a lot). But that's what fandom does I guess, knee-jerk pessimism and jumping to conclusions.

It's just really funny here because, I see no basis for it in this case.

I've been upfront here about my reservations about Emma. She was never my choice for the role, and I've always been lukewarm towards her casting.

but the new trailer went a long ways towards allaying my concerns. I would love to hear her singing though and see some more acting scenes.

I'm sure Watson will be fine. People complained about the girl who played Cinderella as well and she was terrific in that film.
