Wait is this exactly going to be the Disney animation, but with live actors?

Not sure what you mean... this is a live action version of the animated movie. Similar to Cinderella and The Jungle Book made recently.

Except Jungle Book and Cinderella weren't really musicals. This is an actual live-action musical.

So yeah, pretty much a live action version of the cartoon. It reminds me a lot of the stage show put on film.

I have seen the rumored runtime to be 2 hours and 3 minutes. If so that is a lot longer then the animated film. Wonder what else, outside of the new songs, has been added.

a gripping backstory about Lafou and how he was actually raised by the wolves in the woods, when his wolf family was killed by Gaston who took pity on Lafou and raised him to be his sycophant.

This needs to be the very long post-credit sequence.

A 10 minute long sequence of Belle training with Sai's while Evanescence plays in the background.

Also stone statutes protecting the castle.

Too be fair, its to promote the show it is on. :o

Is it just me or does there seem to be a real smallness to this film? I like the lighting and some of the aesthetics but the sets and the blocking look really cheap and small. There's no grandiosity and no sense of wonder.

(eta: I don't want to seem like I'm trying to go out of my way to trash the film -- but it's actually something that keeps distracting me in the trailers)

If I recall correctly, the film was all done on a studio.

I think we need to see a bit more of Belle's town.

The movie will be 123 minutes long (2 Hours, 3 minutes)

The Beauty and the Beast animated film does have a pretty small scope. I just hope this film's ending battle on the castle rooftops will have a big scope and be epic.

Live action Aladdin and Mulan will bring the epic stuff hopefully.

That's true. It does have a more intimate setting and feel to it, and I'm not against that in a live action version. I don't know, I think I'm having a hard time figuring out just what it is that's throwing me off in these trailers.

when is the full trailer supposed to drop?

Going by the teaser video for the trailer that was posted above, in about 5 1/2 hours or so (it's supposed to be shown during tonight's episode of The Bachelor)

I didn't know a show like the Bachelor was still relevant these days. I know it was once popular about 10 years ago. Surprised its still on the air and still gets an audience.
