1. Belle is wearing a pinky ring. Do you think the ring will have some significance in the story? A keepsake from her mother?

Something her father gives her when she trades places ( something she will remember him by - which will be paralleled later when the Beast gives her the mirror so she'll remember him )?

A creepy memento Darth sent to her in an anonymous envelope?

2. Also, the Beast slashes a picture of himself as a young boy with his parents. In the film, the slashed painting is of himself as a young man.

Do you think the slashed painting in the trailer gives a clue as to when the Beast was transformed? Was he a young boy when he was transformed?

I do wonder how the people who worked on the animated movie feel about this. Will kids still watch the 2D cartoon when they can watch a live action version instead?

IIRC there actually was a ring in the original fairy tale, which allowed the Beauty to leave and come back to the Beast's castle whenever she wanted, but the Beast only gave it to her later in the story. And since this is based on the '91 cartoon I doubt it's the same ring anyway. It's most likely just a little aesthetic choice.

Speaking of changes to the story, are we finally gonna see that awful witch from the beginning get what's coming to her? The prince might have been an a** but what she did to him was still way too harsh. And what exactly were the servants guilty of?

Seriously, screw that hag. She's been avoiding her rightful punishment for way too long now. Justice needs to be served.

IIRC, in the Broadway musical they were punished for being enablers.

I wonder if they will continue the trend of their (cartoons made into movies like jungle book, they gave us a little bit of some classic songs but it wasnt a true musical...which it worked perfect IMO

Lot of people ragging on Ewan McGregor's French accent (which, speaking as someone playing two French roles this Summer, isn't that bad for a cartoon candle).

But you know whose French accent is really lousy?

Emma Watson's. She sounds almost British.
