Apparently yes. The new release of BatB, scheduled for Sept 6.Where are these stills coming from? Did a sneak peek featurette from a Disney Blu-ray leak?
And the dance number for Gaston and Le Fou

Oh how I missed Sawyer in this thread.![]()
Nope, this will never get old. That's what you say now. Give it a week.![]()
Hard to say. I'm sure it'll score some nods for wardrobe, production design and visual effects, maybe if the new original songs take off we can expect a nom there too. As for Best Picture, I'm not so sure. I think the only shot it has is if 2017 turns out to be a really weak year. Remakes have been nominated for Best Picture and some have even won (The Departed), but those are very rare circumstances. Plus, this is still essentially the same story as the animated film, just in live action. Since the original is such a classic not just on Disney standards but in the history of film in general, I don't know if the Academy would go for giving a remake a BP nomination, regardless of how well it's received. The other problem too is that it's being released 11 months before the Oscars. Not that they really had that in mind since they're trying to get a bigger box office as opposed to releasing it during a crowded holiday season. How do you guys see the movie Oscar chances?
So far I say Production Design and Costume Design looks strong. I also can bet that one or two of the new original songs will compete. And With talking furniture and the Beast - Visual Effects is very likely.
I wonder if the movie will be able to get the BP nomination as the original animation did.

Background:
The Animated Film was the first ever Animation to be nominated for Best Picture. And this is HUGE. Won 2 Oscars (Score and Song) from 6 nominations back in 1991.
Oscar Talk:
Best Picture – if the movie is HUGE and the reviews are great it can get there. (25%)
Best Director – Has to be REALLY HUGE – slim chances. (5%)
Adapted Screenplay – No chance. (3%)
Acting: Unlikely but not impossible. (15%)
Editing: Epic Musicals do well here. If it is big hit it can get it. (40%)
Cinematography: Visually stunning VFX heavy films do win a lot. (50%)
Score: Unlikely since it’s more of adapted score (?%)
Song: Since the movie will have at least two new original songs, AT LEAST one of those will get nominated. (80%)
Production Design: A sure thing. (95%)
Costume Design: A sure thing. (90%)
Makeup: A maybe. Need to see more. (50%)
Sound Mixing: Musical do well here. The original was nominated. (70%)
Sound Editing: It’s 50/50. (50%)
Visual Effects: Very likely to get this one. Talking furniture, massive art effects…and the Beast.
It's only Oscar shot, imo is Costume Design like all the other live action Disney movies. Emma Watson is pretty terrible so shensurely won't be getting an acting nom.
LOL, between this and the Kong thread, at least you're consistent.I hope we see Beast soon...
