Does anyone feel a little...empty after viewing TDK? Not empty in a bad way, but a bit overwhelmed with what we got and bnow that it's all over, including the virals, the speculation and all that is all over, does anyone feel a bit saddened by it. For almost a year now, TDK has taken over my life in a way, as I would come here daily and read what others had to say (though I never posted much). Now that it's all over, I feel sad. Like a big part of my life has just passed. The movie was amazing, and even though I knew a lot going in, I still enjoyed it and consider it to be the best Batman movie of all time. I know we'll get a third eventually (come on, the movie is breaking records so we know that WB will try to cash in on this, not to mention the actors are signed for 3 parts) but how does one even top this? It just saddens me beyond words can describe. Anyone else feel this way?

that's why you shouldn't invest everything you have to the hype of one movie. I made the mistake when Spider-Man 2 came out.

Everything in form comes to an end. I couldn't wait for the movie, enjoyed the hell out of it and now it is done. I will buy it day one on Blu-ray and enjoy it again. It was a hell of a ride that I am grateful I got to go on.

You're right,, but how can a die-hard Batman fan not? It's almost impossible when the internet is around...

You are right about the movie being amazing! However, coming to these forums everyday have contributed to you feeling empty after viewing the movie. Go see the movie a couple of more times and take a VACATION from these forums for a while. There will always be old, new, and exciting things to blog about. This includes the possibility for a third Bat-movie!

I invested too much of my time into Spider-Man 3... same as k18 with Spider-Man 2... sad thing was... Spider-Man 3 was over-all an average film, unlike Spider-Man 2. Try and learn your lesson the first time around... with me I partly learned my lesson... with TDK I still spent a lot of time (just not as much as with SM3).

i felt empty when the film ended, but was because it left me wanting more.

I'm not empty at all, in fact I left wanting more I cant wait to see how Nolan trys to top this movie, and im glad that the movie was so good cause like you said alot of us spent way to much time on this forum and its a great thing too see that it wasnt wasted.

In my own perspective, the way the movie ends is perfect. Maybe it's how the theme plays over the montage and the voiceover, but to me, that theme resonated as very hopeful.

The end reminds of me of this whole year. i seriously am in depression.

Yeah me too. And I share the OP's feeling.. well, just a bit. I didn't feel empty but something else.. It actually took me a few hours I had just seen the movie I've been waiting for months/years/etc.. Now I'm (even more) crazy about it and can't wait to see it again

Well, I'm gonna see it again as well. I loved it, and I'm positive there will be a 3rd (this one made A LOT more money in the first two days of it's release than most movies do in their entire run).

i almost felt, ALMOST felt like crying, just because the movie was just so beautiful, so great, i couldnt believe what i had just expereiced, its a very powerful masterpiece, the ending was just , words cant describe how great it was. i cant wait for the third one but i think the third film has no chance in hell in being better than this movie but i hope it'll be just as good as batman begins.

I know exactly how you feel, man. Exactly. But finally we got what we've been waiting for for so long. We can finally live our lives again and wait for the third movie (Lord willing).

Yeah, I've been feeling a little empty. I hoped I wouldn't, kind of takes away from my excitement over the movie. I know the movie is amazing in every way and that I love it, it's just a bit overwhelming right now. It took a while for the fact that the movie was finally here and it was done, right up until the movie started. It'll just finally take a while for this to sink in too I guess.

The only emotion I really felt afterwards was like I just got off a roller coaster ride. There have been only a handful of films ever made that have made me feel that way...Cloverfield and most recently this one. :)

i also saw it for the second time today and the experience was even better

A friend was supposed to call me to do something today but she didn't call and now all I do is check the clock and think why not?
I'm just about to go out running and try to see it again —it would be pretty hard to get a ticket tonight:whatever: but still—

I brought this up to my roommates back last fall. Realizing that the movie would eventually come out, and me checking the Wiki and these boards everyday would come to an end. This has been a very exciting part of my life for the past year, and Im so grateful to have the memories of the experience. The film surpassed my wildest expectations, and whether they continue with the franchise or not, Ill be satisfied.

Yeah, I also felt emotional when it was over, TDK was definitely worth it, and I'm thankful for having the opportunity to see it and to have participated in the forums.

But what got me even more worked up was if TDK was this awesome, what in the world could they possibly do to create a third movie to top it -- all the speculation going on for different villians, a justice league done THE RIGHT WAY (By Nolan), Superman vs Batman? I've been going over this in my head over and over, and I still wind up in the same spot -- TDK was probably the greatest super hero film to date, and it's going to take something 10x as great to change that opinion.

yeah - i know the empty feeling you are talking about. i think a lot of it is definitely due to Ledgers death. If he was still alive we would all be buzzing about how great TDK is and when the new virals would start up again, but we know there will always be a hole now. Sure great actors will probably fill new roles but a weird mysticism has formed around this movie, TDK. Death makes everything weird. i think we put our disbelief of Ledger's death off and used the release of the film and the virals as a sort of distraction. now we dont have a distraction anymore. we always knew we would have to come to terms with the finality of his death eventually. now its over. definitely an empty feeling. BUT- i think what created a lot of this hype for me was these SHH boards! I had never even heard of SHH until i got curious about this new Batman film. once i started reading opinions and seeing leaked pics and getting updates on virals- i was hooked. SHH started becoming part of my daily routine. So i believe- stay with the SHH pack and the empty feeling you have will eventually fade. some may not agree (i understand why) but i think Nolan should replace Joker so we the fans dont feel so empty- im mean we lost Ledger and Joker! of course we feel empty- If he can find an actor to embody what Ledger helped create the fans can kinda have closure and see this new depiction of the Joker continued. Maybe it will shift the fans moods from dark and gloomy to hopeful and positive.

I feel good and sad about it. I worked two jobs when the movie was in it's early stages. I am thankfully only down to one now. I looked forward to on my days off going online and "lurking" on these message boards and playing along with the virals. I loved finding leaked Joker pictures. Nothing made me happier than to get a call or a text from the 'Joker'. It was fun for me. Now the movie is out, all the virals have stopped. So I am happy the movie is finally out but sad because all the hype has dwindled. I would have been more in on the posting if I had more time. That is what I regret the most.

I felt extremely overwhelmed. I knew that it was all coming to an end, but now, it was worth it. I had to see the movie 2 times to really get the gist of it, because I was just in awe at my first showing. I was like, as soon as the WB logo came up, "Oh, God, it's finally here" and when the movie ended, I said to myself, "Wow... what just happened", but not in a bad, but like Ifinally finished it. I sure it'll happen all over again with the 3rd, and I personally can't wait. I'm really glad to be a Batman fan now.:brucebat:

I'm very depressed that Heath is dead now, because we would have likely had another stellar Joker performance in the 3rd one with awesome dialog and more cool Joker scenes that would have probably topped this movie's scenes.

Can you imagine? But now we will never see what would have been.

I just want to see Batman and Joker go at it for like 3 movies in a row. As of now, I want more, but I will never get it.
