In Batman Begins Christopher Nolan and Christian Bale did a great job by showing Bruce Wayne's emotions and overall the film's emotional, while in the backround we can hear Hans Zimmer's and James Newton Howard's touching music.

Now, I hope that The Dark Knight, won't be just an "action movie" or just a detective movie, I hope that Nolan & Co. will again show Bruce Wayne's emotions in the sequel. What do you think? While it should have more action, etc. I hope it'll still be a character study.

I think it needs to be primarily a character story. I want to know what the theme of this film is going to be. What is the arc of Bruce Wayne/Batman, and what does Joker represent to him, in terms of his commitment to fighting crime and taking on this alter-ego?

As much as the iconic scenes, the action, the costuming, and the sets are important, I really hope Nolan applies a theme to this film, and by the end, a coherent resolution we can walk away with.

Hopefully with goyer off the project, we won't get the theme hammered over our head in every scene.

I hope the theme has something to do with the title.

I am sort of hoping that Bruce develops a Captain Ahab like obsession with trying to figure out and stop The Joker, to where he REALLY starts "getting lost in his own creation" as Afred said in BB, and maybe have him and Afred get into a shouting match over it. That could give us a cool scene between Cane and Bale.

By the end of the film, Bruce should be fully established as Batman:The Dark Knight.

You mean you didn't like the fact fear was mention 203 times in Batman Begins?

Fear was Bollocks to Batman's V for Vendetta.

Or crowd laughter to Spider-Man 3.

Yeah stache, a little subtlety never hurt anybody, nolan.

*runs away*

I dont want alot of emotion, we already had Spider Man 3 this year.

Nolan will continue to show Bruce's emotions as being an integral part of who he is. At least Im hoping so. I know there's going to be more action, but I hope other aspects dont get overlooked.

TDK needs Emo-Parker.

Boy, was that film a roller coaster of emotions.

I don't know. My emotions during SM3 went between disgust, acceptance, anger, and disbelief.

I don't want TDK to make me feel that way (although the Joker pic is already making me feel that way).

Correct me if i'm wrong...

But didn't Goyer just state in a recent interview that this time around he will have more time for TDK?

No, i've read he couldn't do it so Nolan and his brother did it without him... I'm pretty sure he was just fired because of his poor skills. Blade 3 killed goyer.

I agree but I think there should be a little more intense action scenes

I can't find the interview, anyways...

Fired? I beg to differ.

I really don't understand all this Goyer bashing, I feel without Goyer BB would have sucked, same goes for Nolan, and if say Goyer was alone for BB, that version of BB would have sucked. It's like a yin and yang kind of thing for both of those guys, it's a wonderful recipe for a great Batman movie.

Nolan and Goyer set the standard for a great batman movie.

Goyer's past or future movies 'failure's or successes' will never take away from what he and Nolan accomplished on BB, and maybe even on TDK, that remains to be seen...

But, "In NolanGoyer I Trust". :cwink:

I don't know why the ladies are looking at him like that. People do that in manhattan all the time.

goyer fan huh... I don't like his style much. He gets blamed for making some parts of begins too juvenille and lowest common denominator and I have to say i agree.... I want him gone.
