BAFTA 2007 thread

Bull****.

Prove me this. What was so amazing in his acting? I am not talking about his look (which was perfect for the role), I'm talking about his actor's abilities.

Even Arnie was much better actor in Terminator movies :word:

basic premise, and details perhaps? no spoliers though :)

Animal control officer Walter Sparrow (Jim Carrey) has found a book he doesn't dare put down. By reading a mysterious novel, "The Number 23", given to him as a birthday gift by his wife, Agatha (Virginia Madsen), Walter wists his once placid existence into an inferno of psychological torture that could possible lead him to his death and the deaths of his loved ones. And all because of a number: The Numer 23.

The novel is a chilling murder mystery that seems to mirrow Walter's life in dark and uncontrollable ways. The life of the book's main character, a brooding detective named Fingerling (also played by Jim Carrey), is filled with moments that echo Walter's own history. As the world of the book starts to come alive, Walter becomes infected by the most frightening and evocative part of it: Fingerling's obsession with the hidden power of the number 23.

This obsession permeates the book and begins to control Walter. He sees the number everywhere in his own life and becomes convinced that he is damned to commit the same horrific crime as Fingerling - murder. Nightmarish fantasies come to haunt Walter concerning terrible fates for his wife as well as family friend Isaac French (Danny Huston), placing him on a desperate quest to understand the mysteries of the book.

If he can unlock the power behind the number 23, he may be able to change his future.

The World Premiere of "The Number 23" will take place at the 22nd Santa Barbara International Film Festival (SBIFF). The festival runs from January 25 through February 4, 2007.

I don't know if you have ever read a Hellboy comic (you probably haven't) but Perlman was spot-on as Hellboy, in his attitude, his voice etc.

Arnie is a bad actor.

Yeah. Perlman was the best choice for Hellboy.
Arnie would have the film be a joke if he was cast.

I read two graphic novels and even if Perlman had perfect look, it didn't make him better actor.

Arnie is a bad actor? Don't get me wrong, I don't think ARnie would do Hellboy right, but still he acted much better as both Terminator and Conan.

I'll come back :o

Read my post better. I also mentioned his attitude and voice.

but still he acted much better as both Terminator and Conan.

You MUST be kidding. What Arnie does can barely be called acting, especially in Terminator.

Voice? How could you say this, if comics can't be audio-played.

What? Have you seen last scene in T2?

When I read the comics I imagine Hellboy having a very low voice.

Arnie plays a robot cause that's practically everything he's capable of; a robot or a standard action hero. Terminator 2 is extremely overrated anyway.

When I read comics I imagine Hellboy having a very different voice from yours. That's not fact, it's opinion.

What about Live Action Hero and True Lies?

Question: Fan's can like hang out outside the event right? Even though tickets/tables arent open to the public?
